Your 2019 Cleveland Indians

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Tell me what was that lineup with the 16 indians at this time? Also on paper are the Twins really better than the 16 Tigers who were supposed to win the division before the season started?
Look if you think a lineup with 6 holes can win a championship and make a run in the playoffs that is fine. I just think you are in denial about the lack of talent in the lineup. Let me give you a football comparison.
This lineup is as bad as a McCoy Momss Robiske offense. You would not with a sound mind expect that team to win a super bowl would you?

I think we should try to trade Bauer for a couple top prospects. During the trade deadline teams always get desperate for pitching. With Clevinger coming back soon our rotation would still be decent without him. We need to build the minor league system up, b/c Dolan will not pay for anyone.

Denial is normal. Reality is it’s time to start feeling out the market.

This guy took a quote out of context to make a clickbait article that would jive right with the fans current outrage towards the team.

It's a hit piece at best--and really poorly written.

I have no problem with the idea of rebuilding--or reloading. I have a problem with someone who writes that way in some obscure Podunk paper being pushed in here.

As I've said all year, I still look to move one of Kluber/Bauer (preferably Bauer) for a haul. I'm all aboard selling off some spare parts at the deadline as well. Kipnis, Martin, Oliver Perez, Otero, Clippard.. if anyone is willing to pay for them, they're available.

I'm still down to keep trying to contend until Frankie's free agency period. But the players have to perform. If Jose continues to play like one of the worst everyday players in baseball, this window is sunk.

This right here can't be emphasized enough. What has happened to Jose is truly beyond puzzling at this point, and I would imagine many within the organization are losing sleep over it.

Kipnis got hot last year? He got some hits off the white Sox’s call ups and it’s hot?
My god.

From June through the end of the season (93 games) he slashed 250/337/445/784 with 15 doubles 15 home runs and 53 rbi. Only 4 teams in baseball had a higher OPS from their second base position last year. If you want to throw out Septemper and October after rosters expanded, that's 70 games and a slash line of 252/341/425/766. If he was doing that this year he'd look like Babe Ruth in this lineup.

He's even been bad in the field. He's in his own head, and he's pressing to try and get out of it.

Getting grief in real life for trying to defend the tribe (even though I didn’t really during the off-season). Fuck these guys

Well, below .500 now. Feels like a monumental task to just win a game. It absolutely sucks.
Yep, being below .500 is not a good feeling after our previous seasons. Every team goes through a slump through a long season. I’d rather get it out of the way early. Tito always gets the team going later in the year. I still gots hopes.

Hurts knowing our competition is currently the best team in the bigs. And our other competitor (Boston) outclasses us in talent, they'll get rolling before us.

NY, MIN, HOU seems like the division winners, TB and BOS will own the wild cards.

The Indians lineup can't compete with any of them. The pitching staff has to be top 3 in baseball for us to get rolling.

The plan seems like it was basically just “be the best in a bad division and then make deadline moves because it’ll be cheaper than paying them the full year”

And it looks like the new plan should basically be save money this year and basically punt until next year

Which is a fucking shame, but the front office/ownership got complacent and the Twins smacked them around into being a long shot to win the division and it’s not even June

Serious question, what points are you trying to make with defending them? One thing I’ve realized is this place is very optimistic and positive when it comes to the 3 teams. The Indians suck right now. There’s no other way of putting it. Front office botched the offseason, you can’t defend that.

Was talking about earlier when we were above .500. Also didn’t think we’d be this bad with the pitching and Jose resembling an actual hitter. Apparently that’ll still give me grief.

For people who want to punt this year and maybe make a go at competing next year, what would be some realistic trades?

Probably trade Bauer to Houston or someone else with good hitting prospects. Kluber won't be back before the deadline.
