Your 2019 Cleveland Indians

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
But then he asked the Indians for 4/$80M and didn't give them an opportunity to match his Houston deal. Yeah, really sounds like a guy who wanted to be a part of the Indians organization. But hey you can keep shouting from the rooftops that the Indians just let him go. He and his dad didn't want to be here anymore.

He finished 3rd in MVP voting LAST YEAR. Holy shit. Yeah he forgot how to hit a baseball this year. Wish I knew why but let's not act like this has been going on for years.
The hell with the regular season, in speaking in terms of playoffs and big moments. Sorry, should have clarified.

What is the purpose of trying to sound dumber just because the Indians are playing worse and worse?

Does losing cause people to be less rational because of their inability to cope with the emotions associated with losing?
Never forget fan is short for fanatic.

So to answer your second question, yes it does

Off topic, I know it’s been discussed on this website, but is it worth getting a subscription to the Athletic? I’d like to read Meisel’s article that he just wrote.

Absolutely. I thought LeBron leaving would get me to cancel my subscription, but their Browns and Indians coverage is very good as well.

If you really enjoy national coverage of the sports you like, the subscription is great because it covers all the verticals on their site (MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL, NCAAF, NCAAB, longform, etc.). The local pages also will link to national articles that mention your preferred teams so you don't have to go sifting through each one looking for specific coverage, which is nice.

In terms of Cleveland specific coverage, I'd argue it's more "meh." On the Indians side of things, they dumped T.J. Zuppe and he was responsible for a lot of the more analytical articles. Vardon can't go more than a few sentences without mentioning James, which gets aggravating. Zac Jackson is fine.

I have the Athletic app and I get 2 free articles a month without signing up. I always get notifications that they are running sales for yearly subscriptions.

What's the current protocol for posting paid articles from other sites?

I can post if the mods are good with it.

They also used to have Travis Sawchik contributing to their Indians coverage, but then he left for Fangraphs last July and subsequently left there for FiveThirtyEight. He was easily my favorite writer covering a Cleveland team.

The other Cleveland guy they have is Jason Lloyd, of course. But he doesn't seem to write all that often and when it does it seems like he's always writing with condescending hindsight about something Vardon, Meisel, or Z Johnson already wrote about. Used to like him but he's kinda lost me.

Didn't the Reds sign him on a minor league deal? Well he will probably be in Cleveland on the N.L All Star roster.

Looking at his numbers this season, that is more HRs than he has every had in a season overall and his defense still sucks. Would he be nice right now with this stagnant offense? Yes, but will he keep up this numbers? I dont think its possible he will at all. It feels like he will end the season on a bad note, but thats just my personal opinion.

He’s been put in a situation to succeed. He’s been facing right handed pitching for the most part. I think only 11 at bats has come against lefties. The pop would be welcome.
