Your 2019 Cleveland Indians

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He’s been put in a situation to succeed. He’s been facing right handed pitching for the most part. I think only 11 at bats has come against lefties. The pop would be welcome.
And he is making hardly any $ this year. Low risk/high reward. Probably won't keep tearing the cover off the ball, but right now he is better than what we have in the OF.

54 games played, one-third of the season.

My prediction was that Jose Ramirez was not going to turn it around and not be a good hitter again. I said that at the beginning of the season, I have seen enough of a sample size to make this prediction.

He's currently batting barely above .200 with only 4 homers and 15 rbi's. That's not very good. So far my prediction and writings about him are true. That's he's not going to be a good hitter again.

It fuckin' sucks because the Tribe desperately needs him to start hitting. And it also sucks that the Minnesota Twins have to be the best team in baseball. I think that the Indians can stay in the thick of the race for the second wild card all season.

His BABIP is still at .228 and he takes over 4 pitches per AB. Don't target one person when most of the team isn't hitting well in general, but he will come out of it, and probably be one of the better hitters in the second half of the season especially if we get him some help in the lineup.

We’ve now been saying this for a few weeks and even going back into last season. After 2018 ASB, he’s been struggling, there’s no other way to put it.

Everyone keeps saying “he’ll come out of it, just give it a little”. Well last night was probably his best game all year. Could he turn it around? Absolutely, but his body language isn’t there, his glove isn’t the same. These guys are human, sometimes they have year long slumps and that might be the case. But until I see more than 4 games in a row of solid hitting from him, I’m not holding my breath.

Yeah it’s time to put the BABIP and the “he needed Lindor back in the lineup to catch his groove” excuses aside

Jose has been awful for quite some time now

I’m sure there is some other stat out there, BABPTUO to show he’s above .250 and they’ll use that for an argument on how he’s looking at turning the corner

If Mercado can remain a reliable contributor all season long and keep his OPS right around .800 (I'm not expecting him to stay on the tear he's currently on all year at .880), then that'll be huge.

I understand your frustration, but mocking advanced stats isn't the road to go down here.

Com’on dude. This guy was supposed to be an MVP candidate. Now he looks like he deserves a minor league contract.

However, he had two more hits tonight. Good sign.

I don't remember the last time Jose had back to back good games. It's a step in the right direction. It looks like that rest day helped out some.

League average for BABIP batting wise is supposed to be .300 and he is way below that, which only means he is super unlucky and will eventually start hitting again. He will turn it around and will become the hitter we all know him to be, hence why he is out there everyday still.

I don’t understand the knocking of advanced stats. Is it because those people just don’t understand them?
