Your Gm Who u gonna take?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
another guy who will most likely go undrafted who could eventually catch on somewhere is Othello Hunter. he has good size and strength plus can run the floor annd is turning into a solid shot blocker. still raw but could work his way on to a roster.
QUOTE]

I was all too ready to give you props for showing love to my buckeyes until you said this little gem right here.

Thats a little too much homer love. Othello Hunter isnt even the impact project player that a guy like Kent States Haminn Quaintance is. You may have to turn down the scarlet and gray volume on those NBA scouting glasses:chuckles:

Its all love though

Butler was a no show in last years tourney for absolutely no reason other than he just doesnt have it When it matters, the kid doesnt show. If a guy like Ron Lewis cant crack the League at 6'5 with his range and off the ball ability, Butler wont crack a D league roster.

I think Scoonie Penn, Trent Darby and Brian Brown were all better pg's and neither of them are sniffing the league

I figured I would get atleast 1 homer comment about Hunter but I really do think that he is a guy that if he keeps working can play in the NBA. look he has only played a few years of organized basketball and is still very raw, especially on the offensive end, but everyone is looking for big men. he is athletic, can run the floor, a little iffy as an on the ball defender but a good weakside shot blocker, and can rebound.

I am not saying he is going to be in the NBA next year but I think if he puts his mind to it and works hard he could be a NBA player in a few years. not saying anyone should or will draft him.

Oh ok... since you clarified that...

put like 10,000 other guys on that waiting list too. I'll be in line :)

Again, Im a buckeye fan too, but Jamar Butler shouldnt be involved in ANYBODYs nba conversation as of right now.

Othello is an interesting prospect. A Jason Maxiell type player perhaps with a lot of hard work. Good rebounder, jumper, shot blocker. Long arms. Has a nice touch on the shot for a big guy.

Every player in the world could be in the NBA perhaps with a lot of hard work.

But to be considered such a project as a 5th year senior:thumbdown

While we are at it, lets get Ken Johnson back on a squad like asap

Some guys jump out at me for the draft:

Nathan Jawai
Tyler Smith
DeVon Hardin
Brandon Rush
Serge Ibaka

I'd mainly be looking for a big man in the draft and I think a guy we should be looking for should be around 6'11, athletic, can get up and down the floor and is a defensive presence...

Maybe Karma could fill us in on Jawai because the kid looks like a beast...

He only had a couple years of organized ball under his belt before college. This is only his 2nd year in D1.

You are neglecting to mention a lot of important information. Not your prototypical college senior.

I'm going to revive this because i find this subject interesting

If DJ Augustin falls to the spot we are at hypothetically do we take him?

NBA Comparison: Jameer Nelson/Travis Best

He's only 5-11...

What about if we get a lower pick in the draft, do we pick Kyle Weaver who is a pg/sg?

NBA Comparison: Mardy Collins

I'm with Smooth on this one. Give me a project athletic big like Ibaka.

Real GM:
24. Richard Hendrix
Power Forward. Alabama

Hendrix is averaging 21.8 points and 12.8 rebounds per game so far this season, though his monster games were against average competition. Against Georgetown, Hendrix went for 17 and 9 while going 7-13 from the floor, showing his much-improved ability in the post.

54. Andrew Oglivy
Center. Vanderbilt

Bro you are so off base with this comment. I will just leave it at that.

Sarcasm Cali in regards to the reply I quoted...

Rather be off base than out of stadium. Read up on what is being said before chiming in lad.

Heres the footnote, since you rushed to judge...

The debate was about two scub ass pg's with one being a Buckeye and the Buckeye fans came with their undies in a bunch when I tossed a little realism into the equation of Butler not being close to a NBA player.
I offered the white flag in my assessment in saying that I myself am a huge Buckeye fan as well, but that did no good. Hence buckeye basketball fans showed up in as a tag team in little scarlet undies typing at my opinon and assessment.
Somehow Othello Hunter came into the convo, and at 6'9 became the next potential Dikembe Mutumbo Olajuwon Okalaja prompting me to ridicule the notion that all he needed was work to be in the NBA in a sarcastic tone...

Now lets try that again
...Enter CavInCali take two:

With how the roster is right now, I really don't know.

Jamar certainly runs the point, and knows how to manage the game. He can also shoot lights out, but won't be a real threat for anything else. Lofton's 3 point shooting is insane, but has many other holes in his game. All in all, I'd probably take Butler just for that X factor he brings by managing an offense. He's got so much composure when the games on the line it's scary.

If we don't have a 2nd rounder then I don't think he's worth it. I love Jamar, but his ceiling isn't that high right now. K Love would be amazing, but will he really drop that far to where we can grab him? Besides, I'm hoping we're picking in the 30's...

I am not big Kyle Weaver fan and wouldn't ever call him a PG at all. although there are some who believe he hasn't had a chance to show what he is truely capable of doing. he is athletic but not a great shooter.

if the Cavs could get back into the 2nd rd I do think that Low from WSU could be a steal

I really like Hendrix who you mentioned in another post
