1. My wife loses ten pounds, my toddler son learns to deal with emotional setbacks like a champ, and I go back to being multi-orgasmic on one erection like I'm in my 20s again.

2. We learn Noel's knee isn't a concern and we draft him first. We learn Kentavious defends like a bulldog and goes #19. Second round nabs us Saric because he needs a higher salary than the low first round scale to leave Europe, scaring off the low first round teams; we end up with the vastly underrated Lorenzo Brown with the last pick.

3. Free agency brings Tony Allen on a two year deal, becoming the starting small forward and a team leader. The Cavs also luck out that Mo Williams wants to return to Cleveland to be a humble backup point guard at a bargain rate.

Yeah, that would do.

Trades are too hard to predict. I'll go with a somewhat realistic yet productive offseason.

1: Nerlens Noel. Cavs don't find a suitable offer for the number one pick. They give consideration to Len and Porter, but they feel that they can't pass on the upside of Noel.

19: Reggie Bullock. I think the Cavs will try to trade up using their second round picks. They could also stay at 19 and move into the 20s using their two second rounders. If we were to draft three players, I'm pretty confident that one would be a draft a stash. Bullock is a great shooter and has a lot of potential to play defense. Could easily end up starting.

Free agency:

Mo Williams: 1 yr deal. I'm not sure why no one has mentioned this. He's a FA. He knows Mike Brown. He likes Cleveland. Good vet for Kyrie. Great fit.

Greg Oden: 1 yr deal This signing has been rumored for some time. Ultimately, I think it gets done. If Oden contributes at all, its a win.

Tony Allen: Good player to have teach defensive principles to our young players. I'm not sure what sort of contract he would be looking for. Honestly I'm good with a one year deal with a contract clause that Allen makes life hell for Irving and Waiters in practice.

Some other random D-League type signings will happen. I don't see a big move yet. I still think the Cavs keep flexibility until Lebron and if he says no, the Cavs offer someone like Deng a big deal.

Lineup:

PG: Irving/Williams
SG Waiters/Allen/Williams
SF Bullock/Allen/Gee
PF Thompson/Varejao/Jones
C Zeller/Oden/Noel

Add in a few D-League guys to round out the 15.

Basically this. I'd be happy with getting either Mo Williams or DJ Augustin to backup Irving. Also, for Center I would have it backwards unless Noel and Oden don't live up to their hype.

Noel/Oden/Zeller

Noel/Oden/Zeller

I listed them that way due to Noel missing the beginning of the season due to injury. Augustin is an interesting idea.

1--Trade a future draft pick (Sacramento's?) to Dallas for Shawn Marion and #13.
2--Trade #1, Marreese Speights to LA Clippers for Eric Bledsoe, DeAndre Jordan and 2014 (unprotected) 1st round pick
3--Trade Eric Bledsoe to Utah or Orlando for 2014 (top 5 protected) 1st round pick
4--Draft Steven Adams (#13), Sergey Karasev (#19), Ricky Ledo (#31), Nate Wolters (#33)
5--Trade a future 2nd round pick to the Lakers for Pau Gasol
6--Resign Shaun Livingston

pg-Kyrie Irving, Shaun Livingston, Nate Wolters
sg-Dion Waiters, Wayne Ellington, Ricky Ledo, CJ Miles
sf-Shawn Marion, Alonzo Gee, Sergey Karasev
pf-Tristan Thompson, Anderson Varejao, Tyler Zeller
c-Pau Gasol, DeAndre Jordan, Steven Adams

Use CJ Miles, Tyler Zeller, DeAndre Jordan, Alonzo Gee as trade bait throughout the year.

Now that I had a chance to soak it in a bit.

I believe we will draft Nerlens Noel not only because he's a great talent but Kyrie and Dion need a protective force. Noel is someone they can rely on when it comes to help defense. We need that anchor, scrapper, finisher, and that defensive motor in the paint.

1: Draft Noel

Make some calls around and try to move up. I believe teams will talk but nothing will get finished besides one realistic move and that's with Dallas. Trade picks 31, 33, and rights to Kings pick(I give up on hope, kings suck so bad and that pick will turn to a wash), for #13 and Marion. That's a big jump so it seems realistic and worth it.

Then take that #13 and package it with #19 and try to sell it to Detroit. If they bite then you select Shabazz with the 8th overall pick. Keep in mind that Detroit is looking for a guard, their mocked for PG: CJ McCollum. TWolves, Blazers, Sixers, Thunder follow behind them and all have their star point guards. I see those teams going big anyways. Detroit should still get CJ at #13.

2: Draft Shabazz.

On to free agency. I don't see us doing nothing here unless a player accepts a one year deal. And players don't want one year deals, they prefer multi years. Unless we overpay for a year. 2014 is when we should sign a max player. Keep the door open for #6.

Game one lineup:

Kyrie/Livingston
Waiters/Ellington
Marion/Shabazz
TT/Speights
Andy/Zeller/Noel

Porter, Karasev, Oden, Ellington, Livingston and see who falls into our laps at the deadline.

Here’s my dream scenario:
1: Trade Kevin Jones, Sacramento’s pick to Dallas for pick #13, Shawn Marion
Note: Dallas gets a future 1st likely in the same range and saves big $$$
2: Draft: Noel @1 | Adams @13 | Bullock @19 | Snell @31 | Kabongo @33
Note: after Noel, we draft the prospects with the most value regardless of the fit on the squad; we can use help everywhere anyway
3: Trade Zeller, Gee, Miles, Bullock, Speights (if he opts in??) to the Lakers for Pau Gasol
Note: the Lakers retool with some younger athletic players that’ll fit with D’Antoni and save big $$$
4: Match the offers for Wayne Ellington
5: Make the playoffs

2013-2014 roster:
PG: Irving | Kabongo
SG: Waiters | Ellington
SF: Marion | Snell
PF: Thompson | Noel
C: Gasol | Varejao | Adams

That’s a 5-4th seed right there after bringing in 2 players with championship pedigree. Not to mention a skilled big like Gasol is the perfect mentor for Thompson, Adams and Noel. We might make it out of the 1st round, depending on health / match up.
Counting Varejao (unguaranteed deal), we have approx. 38 millions coming off the books in 2014.
We could resign Pau for 12M/year and still have money for a max FA.
Go Cavs!!

OK, my 2nd go around--like I said I am torn on Noel-I would love the idea of having a shot blocking rim protector. So in this scenario I will have us taking him:

Trade #31,33 to the Mavs for Marion and #13. (I think the trade would be after they chose a player for us due to Stepian rule)

#1-Noel
#13-Adams -still take him for upside, trade chip
#19-Karasev/Saric/Snell/Bullock (A wing Shooter basically)

Sign Tony Allen. If we don't get Allen, bring back Ellington and/or Livingston.

Irving (36)-Waiters (12)
Waiters (24)-Allen(24)
Marion (28)-Allen(8)-Karasev(12)
TT (32)-Zellers (16)
AV (32)-Noel-(16)-Adams

IF Kyrie is a superstar--that team to me can make some noise in the playoffs. The potential for a lock down D is there. With plenty of offense to get it done. We would have a nice mix of vets and youth. With a defensive minded coach, we would make a huge turn around. Still maintain max cap space for 2014 also.

I would NOT trade assets for Gasol. And why does anyone want to draft Shabaz--without the HS hype he is a mid 2nd rounder. Low efficiency chucker in college--not a good fit at all.

#1, #19, #31, #33 for Al Horford
AV for Danny Granger and Tyler Hansbrough

Irving, Waiters
Waiters, Gee
Granger, Gee
Thompson, Hansbrough
Horford, Zeller

Gives Cavs a playoff team next year and if we can't land something better than Granger in the 14 FA market we could just re-sign Granger.

Yeah, that would do.

I'm definitely with ya on number 1.That's my exact perfect off season too.

1# Go to Orlando and convince them to take the #19, #31 and our 1st rounder next year for their #2 this year. It is feasible because they aren't going to get a clear #1 guy in this draft. Maybe a solid #2 or #3, but no #1. Next year there is potentially 4 of them. They go through one more year of building up there team, but ultimately sucking and they have good odds of getting a Wiggins or Parker. Both the Cavs and the Magic roll the dice with this because injuries could hit us and they could be big players in a deep draft.

#2 Draft Noel and either Porter or Oledipo. Cavs commit to defense with these picks, which Mike Brown is thrilled about and the team has an identity.

They can't tank another year and play with the odds again. They need to get the playoffs this year and get a culture of winning here.

Draft Noel then trade him to Washington for Porter and a future first with protections.

Three team trade sending #13 and #19 to Sacramento, Dallas gets #31 and #33, we get Marion, Carter, and #7 where we draft Alex Len.

Resign Livingston and Ellington.

Make the playoffs.

Not sure 13/19 would get us 7, but anything that would get us Len and Porter/Oledipo is great in my book.

Draft Noel
+ Trade for Danny Granger with some combo of #19/#31/#33
+ Sign Mo Williams to a reasonable back-up contract
+ Resign Ellington
= Playoffs

Kyrie/Mo Wiliams
Waiters/Ellington
Granger/Gee
TT/Zeller
Varejao/Noel

If healthy, looks like a very dangerous East team that's 10 players deep.
