Z suiting up as a Wizard will be beyond weird.

Z and his agent, and the Cavs front office are all playing this as carefully as they possibly can.

They know they are under the microscope on how they all go about this because the NBA hates the loophole we're using and they want to close it.

Totally agree with this. Not sure that the NBA could veto it, but all appearances and remarks will be carefully calibrated.

Plus Z is actually doing the Cavs a favor today by reporting to the Wizards.

If he gets a physical (again following normal trade guidelines), then Jamison can play tonight. It's been posted in the game thread that Thornton is already in WAS and also might play tonight.

The thought of putting on a new jersey makes him almost queasy.

And he'll have to wear No. 17, because the Wizards have retired his usual No. 11

Z's going to have to give Grunfeld the pre-game stare down.

Phil Jackson as the Geek: ''Danny Ferry's stealling another one!!!"

Grunfield:''Who summoned the Wizz-..uh what are we called again?"

Re: Z’s heart is in Cleveland, his agent says

Okay; so maybe I'm not getting it. Why did he go to Washington? Did Dyce report to the team when he was bought out and back to Detroit? Nope. He didn't report at all I don't believe. Why is Z even there? What am I missing about this anyway? I don't get the reason Z felt the need to go to Washington at all.

They could have waived his physical. I don't know why they didn't. Now I'm getting pissed. If they are doing this only to keep up the charade, then I guess I am ok with it. If not, they are bastards. :thumbdown

This is a quote from Hollinger's trade analysis:

They're still likely to agree on a buyout [for Z] -- the Wizards don't hate the Cavs so much that they'll set money on fire -- but now they can drive a harder bargain.

Does anyone have any idea of when Z will be bought out, if at all? If this drags on to next week, the Cavs will end up having to play a few extra games without Z, and that means they're going to end up losing a few more games.

that doesn't matter - it's 30 days from the date of the trade. As long as he's bought out by march 1st, we're okay. However, I believe it's easier to buy him out before the wizards play any more games - he gets paid each game they play, so there is less left to owe him, thus less left to cut from his salary in a buyout.

Oh, it's not 30 days from the buyout? My bad.

I think people are taking what Z says to heart to much... He has to say all of these types of things to make sure the trade is kept on the up and up. Wasn't it Jerry Stackhouse who ran his mouth about coming back to Dallas and the NBA rejected the first J. Kidd to Dallas trade? If my memory serves correct, that's what made them have to do the whole Keith Van Horn signing thing....

Please correct me if I'm wrong...
