why not?
i think it would work out GREAT for both teams.
we pursued Curry last year so why not try to get him now, he has tons of potential and has shown it with the Bulls..I would love to have this guy in a wine & gold uni, maybe throw in snow for us and nate rob from NY or any other ideas for throw ins?

give me your thoughts!

Won't happen, they didn't go to the lengths and weeks of speculation to get Curry just to trade him a year into it. Plus I wasn't impressed last year.

Curry lacks heart and determination. No thank you to the lazy bum.

Curry has heart... infact its larger then anyone else's in the NBA now that Robert Traylor had his fixed.

I suggested this on Summer lovin thread. IF we trade Z, there aren't a lot of homes that have something we would need in return. NY is one of them. Curry gets a rap as a lazy bum, but I don't agree. Last year with Curry Chicago was a +3 at the center position and this year without curry they were a minus 1.4.

I think Curry has limited offensive skills but is big and active. Can bang with bangers. He is young and except for the heart thing, healthy. I am not saying we would start him, just saying he would answer our call for what Diop should have been.

That said, I think we can also get crawford, if we throw in the right meat for NY. They have lots of problems and are going to retool to get it right. we have sasha and Damon which better fit the knicks than crawford.

A Z for Curry trade wouldn't happen. The Knicks and Isiah gave up a lot for Curry and won't give up on him so soon. Along with the players who went to the Bulls the Knicks gave up what turned out to be the 2nd overall pick in this year's draft and another potential high lottery pick next year.
I'd also rather just keep Z.

If the Cavs do decide to move Z it will partially be due to a decision to play differently and that a C with a more traditional game like Z isn't a fit. Getting another traditional low post C like Curry probably wouldn't make sense then.

That's a huge downgrade. Z hustles, has heart, and despite not looking it, he cares.

Curry has a fat contract to go with his overweight body and his stats are what they are because of the bad team he is on. He played well in his contract year and many wondered how he would respond to getting a large contract. He responded with lethargy and is not worth the money he is getting.

No thanks.

I still don't get why Eddie Curry still has believers out there. He has a bad rep, and deserved one at that. Is it really that hard to see why Chicago gave up on him so easily? He doesn't have any determination to be a winner in the league. He doesn't have that mentality to be a great player nor does it seem like even cares to be one.

He is a borderline Kwame Brown, and will never be anything spectacular in the league. He got a big paycheck for his height and a couple of his post moves. Other then that, he doesn't play D and he never stays in shape and he is probably has an IQ in comparison to Drew Gooden.

Can he change playing for a better team? Mabey, but in order for a good team to even look his way, he has to perform with some WILL. He has yet to do that except for his contract year.

not sure why people want Curry.....other than his age I would take Z over him everyday

Curry is not a very good defender, he is a terrible shot blocker, he is #2 IN THE NBA in turnovers per 48mins, he stinks at free throws, Z had 5x as many assists, his contract is worse than Z's, he has a potential life-threatening heart defect, he can't control his weight, he has a bad attitude and no heart(no pun intended).
Z is far better than Curry in nearly every aspect of the game. Z's contract is 4 more years, he will continue will be far more productive than Curry regardless of their ages.

People who mock Ilgauskas for his rebounding would have a field day with Curry. I only rate Diop and Jerome James in lower regard to this spineless sloth. Just a complete waste of talent.

I am not saying EC is better than Z, I am saying we trade Z for Curry and Crawford, and we are a better team against physical inside teams like detroit, Miami, the clips, and even dallas. In this trade we also improve on Flip, and we still have our MLE and draft to secure a true point guard. It is clear Z was struggling with elite teams like Detroit. Teams we will have to get through to reach a championship level. Effectively, against detroit we were an AV, Gooden, Marshall team, with Z coming in to rest them. If you are watching the heat dismatle a detroit that beat us inside out, and you are watching Ben and Rasheed being dominated in the paint, you have to be thinking about the tools we have being inadequate to take another step. The press is saying Z is on the table, not me.

I am curious to know Max and Karma, where you see the potential to trade Z. I see very few situations where Z would bring us much of value. As I have said in other threads, there might be something in Toronto, but after that I see a lot of bad teams with bad contracts or the wrong kinds of personnel for us.

We know we are going to make the playoffs next year, and we know we will have to play through teams like detroit and the Heat. We know we struggle against these teams because we are soft inside. we aren't going to fix that next year with a draft pick at no 25, so it follows we can only fix it through the MLE and trades. In my mind, there is no way we trade AV (too valueable) or Marshall (not valuable enough) so the logical bigs are Z and Gooden. We have already explored gooden trades out the Wazoo and there are a few ideas that might really work. So lets see where a Z trade actually works.

Eddy Curry makes Drew Gooden look like Ben Wallace on defense.

wow...this is what I came back to?

almost all of us were surprised with the eddy curry talk....not sure where it came from
