Z for Curry and some throw ins?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
there has been a little talk about Z for the bulls #2 pick, but doubtful

if i were the cavs id do that in a second

That talk pretty much came from Sam Smith of the Chicago Tribune. He's been known for making up some wild stuff in recent years. I don't know if I'd put too much stock into that rumor.

There aren't any sure things at the top of this year's draft. I'm not excited about any of the top players. I really can't see the Cavs giving up one of their top proven commodities for a rookie with some questions around him, especially when they're looking to win now and convince LeBron to stay long term.

In Windhorst's latest blog he writes that A Z trade is probably doubtful and if one did get made the Cavs would have to receive proven player(s) in return.

Let's not forget Z was the 2nd most valuable Cav during the regular season. He is a valuable scorer and scoring threat for this team. Yes he did slump in the playoffs but the big picture is being forgotten. Even with the slump he was still the Cavs 3rd leading playoff scorer and rebounder.

Z shouldn't be traded just to make a trade. The Cavs have to get quality in return.
I also think the Cavs need to improve their quickness and athleticism on the perimeter moreso than upfront. It was opponents perimeter shooting and ability to drive past perimeter defenders that hurt the Cavs more in the playoffs than opponents inside and post scoring.

i agree there isnt a proven star at the top of the draft, at the same time, that is why the bulls are shopping their pick for a vet (supposedly). if this was a great draft class then you know they would ask for more than an old Z

i would gladly take thomas or barganani to try to run with lebron's offense, because even though Z is still talented, he just doesnt fit the mold of the teams direction

i dont thinkthey could get much more than a second pick for Z. keep in mind, lebron is only 21. if this kid thomas at 19 or 21 turns out to be a stud on the boards, blocks and open court and turns into a marion type of player, him and bron could have 10 years together....as opposed to 1 or 2 more with Z, and to be honest we need a big piece to try to win NOW, i say compete for now but dont hurt yourself in the future with these old pieces

my fault btw, didnt see that info already made it to the board on the other page.

You can't just trade Z for a draft pick. Has to be a salary thing in there somewhere. (11 million worth) To get to that number you need to take Chandler (so not happening) or a bunch of useless bulls. To wit, harrington, Songalia, Allen and Sweetney. Would we be a better team with all the yahoos and a number 2 pick? If Lmarcus lives up to the hype, maybe in three years. Make any one of the four bulls Gordon and you have to take the deal, try to sign a decent center with the MLE. I don't see chicago doing this even though they have a gm named Paxson..

The Bulls are pretty far under the cap, if they make the pick, it has some sort of salary value, and trade him for SlowGauskus, it would work. They might need to add one marginal salary. No way it happens.

You tell 'em, Cali...

You are right about Bulls cap situation to a point, but if we get nobody back, we give up th MLE because we will be slightly under the cap. Would I give up Z and a pick for gordon and a pick? YEP. We keep our MLE and get Nazr or sim.

We start

Gordon, Hughes, James, Gooden, AV

Bench is Snow,Jones, Pavs, MArshall and Nazr. And don't forget the draft guy.

You think Detroit was pushed this year!

You have to renounce the MLE, LLE and Gooden to even get under the cap. I have us at the cap in spending(or within a million of it) before we do anything with Gooden or any of the exceptions. He hits the cap at 5.3, the MLE hits it at 5.6(this year i think), the LLE is 1.7 or 1.8. Losing Z's whole salary, we are still over the cap, considering you would get hit for that rookie for about 3 million.

Its pretty close. The 2 pick is a 3.2 million salary, and Z is 9.6, we are 6 million over as we sit. But the cap hasn't been set yet. So we'll have to see.
