Zydrunas Ilgauskas - Game #724 - Cavaliers record

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Don't hold people up to unreasonable standards. People make mistakes. They say things they don't mean. They take things the wrong way. They say things they regret. They over-react to circumstances. etc etc etc. It's never going to stop.

Heck, some people have even flamed and insulted me because I've had the audacity to *gasp* defend someone who can't defend himself.

First off, yeah everyone makes mistakes, not too many compound them and then show little remorse.

Yeah Mike Brown will have trouble defending himself after such an act and then the following debacle.

Mike Brown has said many a time that he has messed up and the like. Difference is in those times he admitted it at the time and didn't wait for the backlash to mold his opinion. Damage is done.

I think some are making this bigger than it is. Mike Brown screwed the pooch with Z, but Mike Brown is winning a lot of games. The team is playing especially well since the incident, and right now they look unstoppable. Brown might get fired at the end of the season if we don't get to the finals, but the reason will not be Z.

Zydrunas has gotten himself out of thirties in field goal percentage.

How do you know there's a difference?

Maybe he didn't immediately apologize because in no way did he regret his decision?

Of course people will apologize for the results of their decision and not the decision itself. You see that all the time. The good old "I apologize to anyone I may have offended by my actions."

And of course, it's not hard to say something like "If I had a chance to do it over, I'd do things differently.", because there are plenty of ways you might imagine avoiding the situation.

Either Mike Brown is cracking under some sort of stress or pressure that has him acting in a manner that he normally would not ... or he has a reason.

Is he going to tell us that reason if it means saying something bad about someone else?

Heck, no.

And if we knew the full story, would it excuse him?

Dunno. I just know it's unfair to bury someone who can't defend himself.
