A Closer Look at Jared Sullinger

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I didn't watch the game but from the sounds of it.. it sounded like Kentucky played Ohio State the right way. Try and have Sullinger beat you and not the three point shot beat you. I've been saying to tOSU fans all along, Ohio State is a very flawed team, Much like the Orlando Magic and that they wouldn't win against a team when it gets to the later stages because a smart coach can easily figure this team out.

As far as Sullinger coming out.. I don't think he will. He comes from a healthy family and his dad it sounds like has more of a say than anything. The $$$ won't impress him is what im basically saying.

Everyone else .. once they get sniff from their agents "you can be a top 5 pick" ... will come out.

You should have watched the game. If they replayed it right now and gave the Buckeyes the same exact shots, they would win by 20. Bufford went 2-16, most of those were open looks. We should have made it a point to get Diebler some more shots.

And the non-charge calls on two of KY's last three buckets were a killer. Craft was easily in position on the one, the official just swallowed his whistle. The other was a 50-50 call, but when the offensive players shoulder goes into the defender, it is normally a charge.

If Craft improves just a little on offense I would love him on the Cavs. He might be the best PG defender I have ever seen in college.

Craft isn't asked to be a scorer on this team. Next year, sadly, will be quite fun watching 3 freshman, sullinger and craft. The Center that signed is really gunna kill big ten teams. You can't compete when you have two tanks in the paint.

I thought the Center that Signed with OSU is still a 6'9 255+ PF.

Here is the commitment list for OSU.

Not 1 5 star recruit and no one over 6'9

Sullinger will have trouble in the NBA...he isn't big enough and PF's with length will give him fits...JMO

Im sorry, but that goes past idiotic to retarded.

Nah, it's the truth. Take off the homer goggles.

Sullinger played well, but Woody Harrelson dominated him at times.

I owned both the Jordan jersey and the parental advisory shirts.

Exactly. At no time did Sullinger look like a lottery pick in that game. He got a couple trash points, and one or two back down shots, but that was it. The white boy owned his ass.

And if I was the coach, I would've pulled Bufford's chucking ass. He shot us out of that game. How the fuck don't you run more plays for 3bler?

With Sullinger and Buford back next year and Thomas with a year to get into the flow of the college game, the Buckeyes will be at the top of the rankings again next year. I just hate that we have to hear about all of the football crap in the meantime.

Ohio State will be very good next year...

PG - Shannon Scott - best PG Matta has ever recruited
2G - Aaron Craft - Should be more of an attacker and plays terrific defense
3G - Buford - Good offensive player...will cause a lot of mis-match problems on the perimeter in Matta's system as a 3
PF - Thomas - Another very good scorer and a guy who can stretch the floor from the 4 which is something Matta loves. Thomas is a better shooter than Lighty as well and I think that will be proven next year
C - Sully - a bit undersized as a center but he can bang

In the regular season I expect the Buckeyes to be at least a #2 seed if not better come tourney time. They're going to have a PG who can get to the basket at will and create for other players in Shannon Scott, mixed with good perimeter defenders and a guy who can score on the block. They still have shooters although losing Diebler hurts, but you also replace Diebler with a player who will be stronger with the ball.

It should be fun...I'm really excited to see DeShaun Thomas get big minutes at the 4 in Matta's system. He and Sully will cause a lot of problems.

i don't think sullinger is a bad player...i just don't think he will amount to much in the NBA. the way he struggles against bigger defenders shows you a glimpse of how he will struggle in the NBA.

by the way...fuck all you bitches for piling on me about the Ryan Hollins comment...i hope you all drown in a shallow puddle of aids. i said he was a natural athlete with a lot of raw athletic ability - he's fast, agile, and is a great leaper....and i'm still right about that...unfortunately he doesn't have the mental ability to translate that into performance on the court....i'm outta here....all you petty fuckers won't let one comment die....fuck you all. it's obvious you assholes want me gone...so i will oblige...goodbye...thanks to the people who weren't assholes...i occaisionally had a good time on this board when dickheads weren't bringing up one Ryans Hollins comment i made months ago...

peace...i'm outta here.

it wasn't the one comment, so much as it was a constant degrading of Andy Varejao and consistently saying Hollins is a better player. It was absolutely absurd...with that in mind, it's hard to take any analysis you have seriously.

If by "right about that" you mean "totally wrong" then ok.

As for Sullinger getting owned by a "white" boy, it amuses me to see the underlined racist tone here. As if it's somehow bad that a "white" boy outplayed him. Soooo much worse than if a black guy had outplayed him, right?
