2017 NBA Finals | Game #2 | Cavaliers @ Warriors | June 4th, 2017 @ 8:00 PM EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The Windy piece on ABC was pretty informative and makes one think long and hard about the mountain that LEBron and the Cavs have to climb. If we go on to win this - this has to be THE greatest win in the history of the NBA. I would rank think higher than the Pistons beating the studded Lakers (Maybe i am over reacting but i dont care).

It would be in the conversation, no doubt about that. It would most definitely eclipse last year's comeback.

This is bitterness, but he could have taken a somewhat similar, if less extreme approach, with Tristan in JR.

Instead he got those boys paid, and they are nowhere to be seen. Just eating cap space.
Exactly so there's no reason to feel bad for him. JR hasn't done shit in the finals for three straight years outside of a few good minutes to start the 3rd last year.

The coward really stripped my love for the game. I don't see how this is accepted and applauded throughout the league by the media, former players, and even fan bases. (Although I expect most are against it because it killed their general liking too)

I might even try to skip these next few games, I doubt my heart could, but my head really wants me too. Problem is I involve my life to much in this, everyday I discuss basketball/Cavs/LeBron with somebody. Anybody. Call it an addiction, I guess.

But I pretty much let Durant take my soul which makes his stupid Slim Reaper nickname even better for him.

I feel so terrible for LeBron, his talent doesn't deserve this shit. He ripped our hearts out 7 years ago, but still, he does not deserve this showcase, and he can't even do anything about it because it's out of his control this time.

We fans need to rejoice and connect more than ever before because this site is great, and basketball brought us together to stay together.

Yes, it definitely is a depressing time.

This only works if you're a great half court team. I could see the Duncan era Spurs being able to exploit this. Cavs simply haven't played that way all season and don't execute well enough in the half-court to be effective. They've been a push the pace team all season.

Maybe you constantly get LeBron the ball at the elbow and see what happens?

To be honest, none of it matters if 3 of the 5 starters have crappy games. Cavs have zero chance at that point.

Cavs need to retool in the offseason. Don't resign Deron unless it's for the minimum. Hope James Jones and RJ retire. Develop Derrick Williams or aquire someone who can take the pressure off LeBron with defense on elite forwards. Resign Korver and hope you can turn him around at the deadline for someone of need. Find a PG that plays good defense, can handle the ball, and be above average at shooting the 3 (should have just kept Delly).

This draft is deep, there will be hungry undrafted players. Find a couple and go after them hard as hell. Find those players that will get left out of the mix when the money dries up in free agency. Get that Terrence Jones type guy.

Gotta accept reality.

LeBron could have joined any other team. Hell the Bulls were probably a better fit. However, he joined up with 3rd best player in the league in Wade.

LeBron basically empowered Durant to sign with Curry. Because LeBron set that precedent. The crappy for LeBron's legacy is that that Durant fit much better with the Warriors than LeBron and Wade fit together. So he only won two rings before bailing. The Warriors may be on the verge of winning 4 or 5.

So yes it truly sucks. However, LeBron set this precedent of a top 2 player joining up with a top 3 player. It just sucks that this is what has happened.

The most disappointing thing to me is that I really thought Kyrie was better than Curry. If Kyrie proves that to be the case the rest of the series then we can still win it!

Kyrie needs to be the AMAZING PLAYER he can be. Its time Kyrie.

That all sounds fantastic but we are strapped. We have minimal room if any.

This. Didn't LeBron work in this area in 2015? That seemed to work well for the team. It was a competitive series too without Love and Kyrie.

I think it's easy to point back to that series, but last year it took the Bogut injury and Green getting suspended to help the Cavs squeak out a victory. It also took some historic performances from LeBron and Kyrie.

The Cavs maybe still win without the suspension or the injury, but the Cavs added zero players of significance to a team that barely beat GSW all the while the Warriors added the 2nd or 3rd best player in the league and potetentially the 2nd best SF of all-time when it's all said and done.

You realize that between Durant, Green, and Thompson GSW can have an All-NBA defender on LeBron at all times? The talent disparity is much larger than any of us truly wanted to believe, myself included.

Issue with the NBA is that it is cool and accepted to play with your bros.

Starts with AAU type ball. LeBron loves his 2003 draft buddies and that created the Miami Heat.

Add things like USA Basketball. These guys want to play together now. And it isn't a bitch move to do so.

Until the CBA forces that to stop happening or enough players say nah this is bullshit, not much is going to change.

NBA is quickly becoming a Euro soccer league though, where only 1-3 teams actually matter.

Ironically getting our ass handed may prevent a team like Boston from going all in on Jimmy Butler.

I mean why even try? Keep the Nets picks and wait a few more years.

You're very likely not even going to beat LeBron for a couple more years and even if you somehow did, lol, have fun against GS!

There's a nonzero chance that we blow a lot of things up if this keeps up, beginning with non-renewal for Griffin and including major trades. The Celtics might see an opening there.

Milwaukee is also well-positioned to join the NBA top tier once LeBron declines (as are Minn, even if they seem unable to take the next step, and Tor even if they seem like a pretender.)

I'm not a fan of the "waiting it out" idea anyway. OKC and, yes, GS didn't "wait out" the Lakers' final good years (even if OKC made some headscratcher moves, but ones that were practically necessary given their market/luxury tax situation, and arguably GS's biggest move before the current run was simply replacing Mark Jackson with Doogie Howser.) SA has never "waited out" for anyone.

Cavs added good pieces and are a better team than last year. However, how do you match a team adding one of the 2 or 3 best players in the league for basically nothing? Answer: You don't.

What were the heat doing before LeBron? What were the Warriors doing before Durant? And I'm not talking 5 years prior.

I'll wait.

I'm annoyed with people attempting to shoe horn equivalences to reduce the egregiousness of what Durant did. There is no precedent

I say we blow this thing up...never gonna beat the Dubs...trade Bron and Love for draft picks and build around Felder and Tavares...:cha (40):

You would think the refs would make the warriors work harder with their super team.

We could have built a nice lead early in that game but fuck Cleveland right?
