Jeff Green: Old

Pretty good signing for the vet min.

Not much risk at all. He'll be playing for a title contender now and be looking to get a deal. One would think the motivation would be there.

At the very least we will have another athletic wing flying around out there.
 
I have thought about this and i think this is a good move. This is a long defender that can create his own shot. We need a guy like this on the team. He is prob the best minimum player we have gotten.
 
This move for the minimum is good regardless.

However, once Tyronn and LeBron get in his ear, talking him up, I think you see a career rebirth type of year.

He's going to be a big impact off the bench for us. They'll be telling him he's a defensive stopper, giving him that push playing for a top team, and telling him to just run the floor and LeBron will find him.

It's a great fit.
 
I'm calling it now...he will rejuvenate his career here this year, then he will sign with Rich Paul and earn a 60 mill contract with the Cleveland Cavs for the next 4yr after that.

We only have his non birds right, no way we can pay him 15 mill a year.

I do think he is a one year rental though as he will be showcased here and taught to play the right way. The skill set is there to be an all star, its just he doesnt play winning basketball.

To me Green is a poor man's Melo. Everything bad we have said about Green can be said for Melo too.

I like the signing though, its a bit more in line what we need to do. We still need a backup pg, the shrimp and corpse we have currently signed most likely wont cut the mustard.
 
Lue has a history with Jeff. Plus derrick got robbed by two gold digging hookers in NY. I have no idea what one has to do with the other lol.

They both are idiots but at least Green can Defend.

He stopped playing him, but he was playing the best basketball of his career before that.

I don't think he made any such comments about his own ability to get the best out of Williams though.

He just kept saying complimentary things to the media about him being able to guard 1-4.
 
Lue's ability to coach is very inconsistent. He should have played Derrick more.

However, I think LeBron will help Green the way he helped JR.

Don't let 2017 prejudice you against JR. It was a write-off for various reasons.

Jeff Green was also 11th amongst his peers in Win Share per 48 minutes (.022), and dead last in Value Over Replacement Player (-1.0). Just a terrible player on a bad team.

Thirty year old rotation players who earned $15M one year are not offered a minimum one year contract without a reason.

I expect him to be bad but play enough minutes to reduce LeBron's minutes during the regular season. I am okay with that.

Its a great signing for vet min. He isnt expected to come in and do what he was expected to do in his early career. Those expectations are gone.

I think he could have a JR type resurgence as if he comes in and puts in effort, his athletic ability and length will help him be the role player he is being brought in to be.

Further it gives length and athletic ability to the bench.

I really am excited for the signing as this is a true best case scenario with a vet min.

Jr had an elite skill though that compliments LeBron more than anything, shooting. Jeff Green doesn't have an elite NBA skill.
