DRose is still fairly explosive and can attack the paint with the ball at a good extent. IMO, going forward, thats the role he should embrace because he has it in him to be a very good 6th man off the bench who could provide instant offense like Jamal Crawford and Lou Williams.
I still don't know what I am more surprised about. The fact that no team went for DRose for more than MLE or something or the fact that WE are about to sign him for something around half of MLE. Eitherway, its a very interesting move. Because in terms of fit, its far from being ideal. DRose is fairly pointless without the ball and its not like he was ever a great facilitator either. So, can he play with someone like LeBron? Can he develop some sort of understanding with LeBron in the 2nd unit?
The good thing for us is, we are getting him for more or less a minimum contract. A perfect low risk, high reward kinda move. Also, he addresses one thing that we lacked big time in the Finals. Some sort of scoring off the bench. He would be able to contribute a lot more than DWill and Shump did on the offensive end. And he is easily better than Calderon and Felder.
