I'd say it's probably around 50% ...
I'd honestly be shocked if it weren't nominated, particularly if we're comparing it to the films that were nominated this year.
Tell me about it. Every year my wife wants to watch all of the Oscar nominated movies. Last year I bought them all after the oscars, we made it trough about half, and have no interest in rewatching several of the ones i did watch.
This year I rented a few before the oscars and saw a few thought the year. Of the ones I watched, the only one worth owning is the only one I bought - Dunkirk. I've yet to see 4 of them, though, including the winner.
I saw Get Out. I might watch it again because I never got what all of the hype is about because to me it came across as an okay episode of Black Mirror. And it certainly wasn't scary for a horror movie.
Wonder Woman was better than all of the other ones I did see, and the best DC movie in a long, long time. I haven't seen Thor: Ragenrock or Coco yet either (need to take a break from VR for that one), but they are both probably better too, and I'll be quite disappointed if they aren't.
It's like the more people who pay to see a movie, the less likely it is to win any awards, no matter how good it actually is.
And I really don't get why Lady Bird (which wasn't a bad movie) is considered a better movie than, say, Logan.
