Channing Frye

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Because he wasn’t a starter any more? I don’t remember him being a locker room problem at the end... a guy who worked his butt off to make the league then played within himself and was well liked and respected around the league... he was a constant professional.

Sure. What everyone is forgetting is that he wasn’t that good.

Don’t think he was expected to be? You need positive guys in a locker room, he seemed to be one of them.

God please let this rebuild go better than the last one.

More was expected out of the Israeli Michael Jordan than he gave us.

That's because you are a representative of the modern day Golden State fan. Basketball started with an elderly war veteran, ragamuffins with nothing else to do in the Jewish ghettos, a peach basket, and the year 2014.

Sincerely,

One of the pre-2014 Golden State ticket purchasers.

:D

Now, I know you are being funny, but you know that's not true. I attended many golden state games from 1979 until around the Gary St Jean era (after the "billy owens collapse" and the "Sprewell incident")

I was a fan all through Don Nelson's efforts to make the backboard-pass a thing, and to make a 7'7 3pt shooter a thing. I was at the "welcome Sarunas!" party.

I did give up on them for awhile, from about 1997 until about until 2007, when they were on their playoff run - but then I moved out of the country then, became a fan of the italian sport of Ruzzola, or "cheese rolling", and stopped following them until 2012 or so.

So I supposed you could call me a bandwagon fan, for ignoring them for a decade, but I'm not a basketball newcomer. I can still tell you details of the bullets/sonics championships I watched in the late 70s, from when I lived in DC.

And Ruzzola is pretty cool.

Did he even ever move to LA? I know he went out there then had the appendix surgery. I wonder if he just went back for 2 weeks after he was healthy and just viewed it like a West coast trip.

People move to LA and get robbed of their appendix - That is how I would sell this :p

Be scared Kawhi .... be very scared .......

I think it would be funny if we traded him again. lol

I think it would be funny if we traded him again. lol

it would actually. Frye was a great signing by Koby. Just a great vet for the youngsters to see. Frye, Love and Korver are three great vets to have on this team. I think frye can especially be a big help with Preston

Now, if we can get rid of JR, TT and Hill..............

I’m really happy with this off season.

I think the FO knew that LBJ was leaving durung and after the Irving situation.
No way were they going to be able to add another similar star to the team. They tried to build around with some vets like Wade, Rose etc but that was a fail.

I do think they made the flurry of trades with IT, crowder to improve the team for last years run but also to start preparing for LBJ leaving. I actually think they did a good job on both fronts but there was simply no time to mesh

Koby wanted Zizic included in the trade. And was never going to trade that Brooklyn pick for a 1/2 year rental
They got Hood, Nance and Clarkson hoping they would help last year but also as a semi start to the rebuild

The was LBJ left, no meetings with anyone...he simply wanted to be in LA for his brand.

Looks so far like sexton might be a great pick
Getting Frye back for leadership alone is a good move
Taking a flyer on Preston is low risk, high reward.
Osman and Zizic continue to develop

We still got the mid-level to add to this team.
Hill and Korver will have value at the deadline to a contender to get more assets

Classy move to let Zizic go home for the World Cup
And a classy move in letting KLove decide if he wants to stay or go

Your right, a good off season

It's looking like they are going to try and win as many games as possible.

Channing guiding Nance to a > 35% 3-PT % is going to have me feeling all kinds of orgasmic.

Book it.

It's happening.

Nance is shooting 3s and making them this season.

OMG

I cannot believe I missed this news. I have been so excited about the summer league and we got back Channing Frye!
Going to be nice to have a great mentor for the young guys and I love his humor.

Welcome back Frye!

You know, the guy who this signing could really help is Billy Preston:

“The biggest thing he does well is he can really shoot it for his size, for that position, for his athleticism,” Gershon said. “He’s going to be able to have a role in the league in my mind as if nothing else a guy who can really stretch the floor with his physical tools. How much he builds on his game around that is going to dictate how successful he ultimately is. He has a really good building block right there with his physical makeup and his shooting ability.”

more:

“This is a guy at 6-10 that’s got wide shoulders and long arm, and you mentioned the plus athleticism,” Daniels said. “But he’s so versatile as an offensive guy. You can go post him on the block. He can step out and make shots from the mid post or even out to 3.”

Who do I know who could face up, pick and pop, spot up at the top of the key, had long arms... I mean, maybe Preston's ultimate landing spot is a better-athlete version of Frye. (which feels like a fall from grace when you read the Paul George and Carmelo Anthony comps, but really.. an undrafted rookie having Frye's career.. is it such a horrible thing?)

I know about rebuilding and getting high draft picks, but I remember years before Kyrie and Lebron, the Cavs had a young Z and other players who were competitive and got into the playoffs.
I'd like to see this team or some form of it do the same.
Not be bottom feeders for years.

I agree, win as many as possible. Tanking often leads to endless tanking...see the knicks, kings, bobcats, magic, bulls, mavs, pistons, suns, hawks, nets.

The exceptions like Philly are just that exceptions

This is not 2010, we have 4-6 decent young pieces. We still have Love. TT is still a 10/10 guy...just overpaid

Try to build a winning culture and makes moves to make the team better all the while shedding salary

We might lose the atlanta pick but in moving Hill, Korver, JR, possibly Love if he wants to go then we will get back some picks. Also think by 2020 that Preston will be ready

Also load the hell out of the Charge, I would be adding players and sifting through them all the time.
