It wouldn’t have been the last one. He had 2.Fair point. He could have called timeout. But it would have been the last one. Hmmm. A lot of coaches don’t call timeout in that situation as it allows the defense to set biut maybe he should’ve.

You call timeout, draw up a set for a look to tie or take the lead. Lakers ball, and they likely call a TO of their own.
If the Lakers score, you have your last TO to advance the ball and draw up a game winner. This is high school JV level stuff.
The Lakers were able to set their defense anyway because that rebound didn’t come in a situation that allowed the Cavs to run in transition. There were bodies all over the place on both sides and the hall was recovered in the corner.
