2023-24 Season | Game #16 | Lakers @ Cavs | Nov. 25, 2023 | 7:30 p.m.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I tried not be to reactionary, but we simply play a better brand of basketball without Don. JB isn’t that guy, but as long as he’s the coach, Mitchell compounds the issue.
That is the new mantra on this forum, pretty much everybody is parroting that take. I think it's still a knee jerk take based on hardly any sample size with our whole rotation being available.

Mitchell looks like he needs to take 6 weeks off.

So last year , we went 2-0 against the Lakers winning by 14 each game ; here, we were well rested and playing at home with basically a full team (no DG for the 2nd half) and lost by 6; certainly not a step in the right direction

There was a play when Mobley was free on top of the key 3, instead of taking the shot, he dribbled through traffic and tried to post up james which he turned the ball over. He has to take those open shots regardless of the results. It's bad offense to trade open 3s for a well contested 2.

Problem with this take is the team actually plays better and looks more cohesive without Donovan, at least for this season.
I don’t disagree, but I think it’s for a lot of the same reasons LeVert as the starter looked “worse” two seasons ago.

I don’t think Garland is good enough to be the only playmaker on the floor. Therefore, the coach is going to have to find a way to make things work with two. He has proven incapable of doing so.

Alpha scorer has a guy one on one and gets to a spot he loves. Don’t see what you’re talking about.

No play was called. No point guard is on the floor. This is the type of shit you’ll see as a result.

Every single top score-first player in the league takes those shots.
Dude you're the only other guy here seeing those possessions clearly. And people saying DM is faking a tight hamstring on his FIRST game back from that very injury, that's a clown car take. I think it's reasonable to think it tightened up on him and affected shots he usually makes in his sleep.

Not happy about seeing that lady at the postgame show wearing a Steelers jacket..lol

It only appears that way because Mitchell is mentally checked out. Last year he would’ve guaranteed carried us to this type of win. We only made the playoffs because he was playing like a MVP to start the season. I think when he first got traded here he saw potential. DG and Allen were coming off all star appearances and Mobley was deemed a “unicorn”. A 1st round exit and year later he’s accepted the fact that he has Pennywise as a head coach, Garland is moody and overrated, Mobley is just a guy and Jarett Allen would rather play fortnight and celebrate defensive 3 second calls then put a player on his ass

That's where you use Evan Mobley, who is 2x the playmaker with 2x the vision Mitchell has anyway. He had 6 assists tonight and during the win streak, he averaged 5 as the secondary playmaker from the high post

Mitchell was coming off an injury so being rusty shouldn't be surprising.

Levert got the memo and had 8 assist. Kept the ball moving and made allen and mobley engaged offensively. It's rough seeing iso-ball down the stretch when cavs were punishing the lakers with good ball movement.
That's the crazy thing too, if Mitchell played with the same attitude and mindset that LeVert had tonight, we win this game by double digits

It’s more that second possession. But the first one You had a chance for a 2 for 1 but he waste 10 seconds to take a contested 2. 2nd possession down 4 with 20 seconds instead of taking a 3 you take the same exact bad shit as the previous one. I had an epiphany at that moment and I don’t blame him for wanting out

Hell, he might've ruined some, just some, value.

Mikal Bridges is dreamland. This Cavalier core is really good and can't lose Mitchell without nothing in return.
BKN doesn’t trade Bridges for Mitchell

They trade for Mitchell to pair with Bridges

They will make an offer of Dinwiddie, O’Neal, and either Sharpe or a 1st as first offer

Pushed to do it with a back channel promise from Donovan to extend, they maybe give in to offering something like Cam Johnson, Royce O’Neal and a pick

Cavs are not going to even sniff Bridges
