2023-24 Season | Game #16 | Lakers @ Cavs | Nov. 25, 2023 | 7:30 p.m.

Fair point. He could have called timeout. But it would have been the last one. Hmmm. A lot of coaches don’t call timeout in that situation as it allows the defense to set biut maybe he should’ve.

Still just a tunnel vision shot by DM
It wouldn’t have been the last one. He had 2.

You call timeout, draw up a set for a look to tie or take the lead. Lakers ball, and they likely call a TO of their own.

If the Lakers score, you have your last TO to advance the ball and draw up a game winner. This is high school JV level stuff.

The Lakers were able to set their defense anyway because that rebound didn’t come in a situation that allowed the Cavs to run in transition. There were bodies all over the place on both sides and the hall was recovered in the corner.

Those last couple possessions were unacceptable. We had an opportunity for a good shot and pissed it away. I can take an L but not from the hands of hero ball.

You may be right. But no mention of DM feeding the post successfully, then making the hockey assist right after that for a big to big lob?

And then DM sees a 2 for 1 chance, takes a floater inside the foul line that's usually a layup for him and... misses.

Not you, but I'm seeing so much pure hatred for DM on his first night back off the injury, with DG going down, against a tough Laker team and Lebron. SMH.
That one instance was an excellent hockey assist; but it’s basic basketball to give up the ball when you’re getting double-teamed , and in most instances he attempted to dribble around or through the double-team

Mitchell ain’t it, man. I had so much hope after the trade and with him coming in with a different tram but this hero ball bullshit is infuriating.

OKC, Pacers, Orlando all look like they have over taken us

Two for one on the game clock.
Ok.

In that situation, I’d still be prefer for a more quality look, even if it was just a more quality look for himself.

Don’t mind that he pushed forward to see if he could execute a two for one but don’t think that spot he took the shit from was his usual elbow/top of the free throw line sweet spot.

Levert got the memo and had 8 assist. Kept the ball moving and made allen and mobley engaged offensively. It's rough seeing iso-ball down the stretch when cavs were punishing the lakers with good ball movement.

Imagine if Steph Curry was labeled as the problem when Marc Jackson did this exact same crap with him.

Mitchell is way too talented and way too good to blame for his coach being unwilling to actually, you know, coach the team.

Ra Ra speeches and preaching about defense are valuable when your team is a bunch of dumb teenagers. We’re past that point. JB hasn’t grown with the players.

Now, if another voice comes in here and we see growth in everyone but Mitchell, by all means, ship him.

But we’ve seen nothing creative for Garland. Very rigid use of Allen. A simple “here ya go” approach with involving Mobley through isolations.

There is more evidence that this is how Mitchell is expected to play than to the contrary.

I don’t disagree with the don slander tonight, but you just can’t make any decisions when they just haven’t had their full team together. Bit may not matter, but best bet is for them to figure it out with guys they got.

Sucks, winnable game. JBB gave Hayes 10 easy points (plus 14) by putting short Niang on him. JBB match ups are so easy to fix, yet is too stubborn & forces 3 point shooter to defend a center
