2010 Draft Talk

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Collins, Randle, Torrance, Zoubek, Samhan.

Cavs have options. They should take one of these guys and bring them in for the summer league roster.

Zoubek is the type of guy that would piss off centers in this league.
I'd like him as the 5th big. He could possibly guard and piss off Howard for stretches.

Well, all we can say now is that Grant has to do something in the next week. If he doesn't, he probably loses his job and we might see Gilbert going after Pritchard for another rebuild.

Told you guys earlier today. Pretty clear they weren't going to pull anything off tonight.

I actually think its pretty clear they won't complete a big move of any kind. I think there's a far less than 50% chance they present LeBron with enough talent to convince him to stay.

I had a bad feeling they wouldn't get anything done tonight and this will only continue until the inevitable.

Don't let yourself be surprised.

Yeah, it looks like the Cavs didn't want to go in risking anything. I'm sure they could have added a future first and cash.

Costanza...COSTANZA!...err...GRANT! The draft's over...wake up! Come out from under the desk and turn off the lights.

Isn't the point to improve the team BEFORE LeBron hits free agency? We are hitting the point of no return very quickly, need to make something happen very soon.
haha I guess the sarcasm wasn't clear, my mistake.

I agree. We aren't doing anything...it's been all talk. We were going to be aggressive. We were going to get into the draft. We were going to do this. We were going to do that. All we've actually done is expand the team shop.

The clock is ticking. Buying a second or two wouldn't have convinced LeBron to stay, but it would be a step in the right direction. Adding any youth to an aging team with many holes, like the Cavs, is a step in the right direction. Meanwhile other teams who are targeting LeBron are doing SOMETHING to make their team more appealing. We have a lot to accomplish and not a lot of time to do it....it's going to be tough.

Chris Grant is not going to get fired less than a month after he takes over. That is absolutely ridiculous and sends shockwaves out to LeBron and the rest of the league that Cleveland is the most instable franchise in sports.

If Gilbert is really enamored with Pritchard (haven't heard anything to that effect, though), then he would be hired as "team president" to work over Grant. Grant will not be fired.

I don't think anyone the Cavaliers could have gotten after the top guys were off the board would "improve" this team that much.

I don't think buying into the middle of the 2nd round is something LeBron would look at as something that made any difference at all.

July 1st is a long way away. Let's not jump off the cliff until we absolutely have to, huh?

...and so ends one of the most boring drafts ever.

Moral victory: Deng and Beasley weren't traded...so that's a good thing.
