Nice news...barring a setback, should see him back in ~ a week.

With the way we're going he's going to miss like 6 games total.

Giovanni Soto sold to Cubs for cash considerations. Kind of wish the Indians would have sold him to the Angels, where he could have been caught by Geovany Soto the catcher. Good luck to him with the Cubs.

The three guys who have been sold for cash in the past few days, is that due to them needing to be removed from the 40 man roster and/or having no minor league options left or are we just straight up jettisoning them to make a little money?

Wasn't an options issue, it was a "you guys haven't progressed like we'd hoped" issue.

Smart money is on one of those guys having finding more success in the NL, but they simply ran out of time to make an impact here and were passed by.

I'd be blown away if any of them made it. Walters is a windmill. Ramsay regressed despite repeating AAA at age 25. Soto might become a loogy still, but those are not hard find.

Love Tito, but some of his decisions are really hurting the team thus far. Why do you have a guy who has spent nearly all of his career in the IF still playing LF in the 7th inning of a 1 run game with 2 plus defenders just sitting there on your bench...put Naquin in CF and shift Davis to LF for fucks sake, that should have been an easy move to make, especially with your ace on the mound holding a 1 run lead. While the HRs were the real back breakers, that 2 out misplayed 2B and bullshit jammed single were the game...drove up Kluber's pitch count and he ran out of gas in the 8th.

Still, the goal should be to be at or right around .500 when Brantley gets back, so these Ls aren't catastrophic, but that's 2 games in a row I've questioned Tito's decisions down the stretch which ended up most likely costing the team 2 wins.

Would not be surprised at all to see Shaw go to the 15 day DL on the off day on Monday with Tommy Hunter coming off the DL.

And the better news is tomorrow is most likely the last game without Brantley and with Cowgill on the roster.

LOL Brantley isn't coming back tomorrow. He hasn't played a 9 inning game yet, let alone back to back nights. They are taking it slow after having him rush back and get hurt again- they are making up for the mistake now. Chisenhall comes back Wednesday.

I was mostly saying that with the expectation that he would play today and finally play in back to back games...not playing 9 innings isn't a big deal, but not playing in back to back games is. Disappointing news that he isn't playing today.

And I figured they'd make their moves on an off day to let guys travel and not be rushed, but I guess on the last day of a homestand makes sense too...for some reason I thought the DET series was at home...
