Does the vet minimum number go up when the cap goes up? I feel like it's going to be harder than ever to get guys to agree to that with all the money that's going to be available this summer.
The cap number can go up all it wants.

There will always be a small pool of players that want to win a ring before they are done.

David West turned down 12 mil? To play for the minimum on a contender.

There are only 4 or 5 teams that can say "come to us and you'll have your shot at a ring."

I know that's true, but if it went up then we possibly might be in play for guys that aren't in total ring chasing mode, like Jared Dudley or Marvin Williams. I know we'll still have the two year MLE to chase a guy like that, but we only have one of them.

You are right though that now that we've won ring chasers should only be more interested in us.

Warriors Have Interest In Dirk Nowitzki

The Golden State Warriors plan on pursuing Dirk Nowitzki this offseason.

Nowitzki has spent his entire career with the Dallas Mavericks and has been widely expected to re-sign with the team this offseason.

Nowitzki turned 38 this month and has said he would be weary of staying with the Mavericks in a rebuilding process.

Nowitzki could offer the Warriors an upgrade at center over Marreese Speights or Festus Ezeli.

Golden State still plan to pursue Kevin Durant as their first order of business.

“We will be very aggressive,” one Warriors executive said late Sunday night. “Very, very aggressive.”

My belief in this is, if Dirk was actually going to leave Dallas this late in his career and going to play for a "contender" where he could reach the Finals... you go to the East, not the West. The Cavs could use Dirk just as much as the Warriors, and will be a shoe in for the Finals again next year. And what team better resembled the Mavericks championship run a few years ago in this series - the cocky and ego maniac Warriors, or the refusing to give up Cavaliers?

But I really can't picture Dirk leaving Dallas and think he'll just retire before he plays somewhere else.

It's not a legit article or source.

The original source is Tim Kawakami who effectively admitted he just made it all up for 50,000 clicks.

There is no chance Dirk goes to the Warriors; and he's not ring chasing.

First guy I'm calling when FA starts, after our own guys, is Wade. You have to at least ask.

That guy is such a douche bag. You can tell by looking at him.

I expect the Wade and Miami talks to get ugly too.... Gotta make the call.
That and I'm sure he knows what Riley (hidden motivation) has said about LBJ and probably feels similar about Wade. That's some master slave shit and no one is talking about it in that manner. I wouldn't be surprised if Wade held out for a ton of money and if he didn't get it, taking far less to stick it to Riley.

I agree, they will get ugly. And if he leaves (only a 0.5% chance) there is only one place to go. That's Cleveland with his boy.

Zaza Pachulia. Would be a good fit and a good replacement for Moz. Very physical but still skilled enough at the offensive end.

I do not have any idea about Zaza - Is he better than last year's Mozgov ?

I don't think there is an affordable FA out there that was better than last year's Mozgov. He altered a lot of shots because he had more explosiveness back then. He was throwing down oops every two seconds. But we didn't really need the dunks as much from him this year. We needed someone who could be a physical presence, a rim protector, a rebounder, while still being able to finish around the rim. Moz had butter fingers, disappointing athleticism, and a lack of toughness. I've never seen a 7 footer other than Moz try to wrap up a guard rather than just going for a big block and jumping into them in order to send them to the line. In my opinion, Zaza Pachulia and Ian Mahinmi fit what we need. But I'm afraid they'll get paid more elsewhere.

I'd resign Moz if they think the knee heals...I feel like it bothered him all year..he is still big and athletic and plays hard...just get him some stickum

He will probably be too rich for us price wise. I rather re-sign Moz at a good price. I think health was a major factor for him more than anything.
