2017-2018 Around the NBA

Wait, which is it? The yips or an injury? And if it's an injury, why is he able to extend his arm on layups and dunks?

Something just isn't adding up here.

Can be both. He might have an injury that isn't severe, but he is afraid to shoot properly because of fear of aggrevating it or some other shit.

It's all about the angle.. one can raise the arm for a layup because it's a different angle.. a shooting stroke always has the same angle on elevation and perhaps that angle bothers him.

He can not shoot floaters right now either.

It's very weird and Philly fans are losing their god damn mind.

Doesn't make sense why they would throw him out there injured considering the kid gloves they treated Simmons and Embiid with.

I also don't know why they're using him the way they are. He's a guy that needs the ball in his hands. Simmons can be your starting point, but then use Fultz to run the second unit. What they're doing now is baffling.

Well, there we go:

Philadelphia 76ers guard Markelle Fultz, the top overall pick in the 2017 NBA draft, had fluid drained from his right shoulder and is planning to visit a specialist soon, his agent told ESPN on Tuesday.

"Markelle had a shoulder injury and fluid drained out of the back of his shoulder," agent Raymond Brothers told ESPN. "He literally cannot raise up his arms to shoot the basketball. He decided to try and fight through the pain to help the team. He has a great attitude. We are committed to finding a solution to get Markelle back to 100 percent."

No decision has been made about possibility of Fultz missing games in the immediate future, league sources said.

Fultz had the shoulder drained prior to start of the regular season, which caused him to miss the end of the Sixers' preseason schedule, Brothers said.

Fultz, 19, has struggled to shoot the ball in his first several NBA games, resisting jump shots and leaning almost exclusively on drives to the basket. He is shooting 33 percent (9 of 27) from the floor and 50 percent (6 of 12) from the free throw line. He has averaged 19 minutes in the Sixers' four games.

"From a basketball perspective, it's been encouraging to see that Markelle can get any shot he wants during the games, but he has been unable to shoot the ball," Brothers told ESPN.

The Sixers traded the No. 3 overall pick and a future first-round choice to the Boston Celtics for the chance to select Fultz with the No. 1 overall pick. Fultz played one season of college basketball at the University of Washington.

Yikes.

It sucks that Hinkie was jettisoned. He is the one that set them up with Embiid, Simmons, Covington, Saric and others. Yes Noel and Okafor didn't pan out, but overall, the process was brilliant and I think the Colangelo will end up(if he hasn't already) limiting just how incredible of a team Hinkie could have put together, with an owner who was willing to be patient until the NBA stepped in behind the scenes and put the pressure on to make a "win the press conference splash" and hire a basketball lifer.

Sucks for Hinkie and even worse for Philly fans. the Colangelos are the worst.

BC just mismanaged everything since he took over.

I wouldn't write off Noel just yet...76ers aren't reaping the benefits, of course, but he's looking very solid for Dallas.

i don't get it either. so they just drafted a backup PG?

What exactly happened with Okafor

Nets: We don't have a prayer of stopping anyone, so we're just gonna play at a super fast pace and lead the league in scoring.

Everyone Else: Lol...

...

Everyone Else: Wait, WHAT???

Also, how did the Timberwolves lose Ricky Rubio and then end up paying 19M/year for Jeff Teague? They're dumb as fuck.

You are correct. They are dumb as fuck.
Butler needs spacing and is a peseudo-playmaker so they wanted to surround him with better shooting, but Teague isn;t that good of a shooter and he is a worse playmaker and a defender than Rubio by far. If they really wanted to push for the playoffs and become a threat, then they should have looked for an elite PG with a great 3pt shot or stay put till next season.

Would be nice if the Pacers can keep up and win this one, we need every team to have a better record then the Nets

Pacers shooting 66% for the game :doh (17): (3 minutes left in the 4th)

What is the game with highest % in NBA history ?

Edit: finished the game with 66.7%
