No he's not.

I'm really not sure why Calderon gets so much hate on this board.

He can shoot, doesn't turn it over, and is more than capable as a third PG in spot situations and when Rose needs rest. Plus IT might not be ready to start the year.

Calderon is a pretty important piece to this roster this regular season.

Well someone is going to need to go. Especially if we plan on signing wade if he gets bought out. And Calderon is on a non guaranteed deal.

Who else if not him, though?

Maybe Shumpert, but I'd think they may want to hold onto him as someone who can match salaries later? Unless they have no intentions of trying to move that pick for a major player, which would be the case if they can't get any sort of read on LeBron.

I guess nothing is impossible as far as just waiving Calderon(who thought we'd have Rose and IT) but I'm pretty convinced another trade will be made. No way the Cavs pay Shumpert this much money to sit on the bench.
 
This off season went from a 0 to a 10 in one day for me



also i really dont want wade. ITs not a good fit. Maybe if rose wasnt here.

It's really all about timing with Wade. He probably does want bought out. And the young players on the team would likely be happy to see his minutes freed up.

But Wade can't easily opt in for the season and then turn around in a few months and say he wants to begin negotiating his way out. I'm in! Just kidding, pay me to leave.
 
I "heard" that this trade also generated a 5.8mil trade exception. Is that true? If so, who do you guys see us using it on?
 
I do not want Wade on this team. Before we got Crowder I would have not have cared. However, there aren't enough minutes for Wade on this team. Wade looked awful last year. At this point I think JR, Rose, and Crowder are all better than him.

Yes it is true. Probably not much since there's not a lot of contracts under 6M that teams want to get rid of.
 
We should roll 10 deep every night. The depth on this team should keep us from anyone playing over 32 minutes. With only Kevin, Lebron & IT surpassing 30. Thats without even thinking about Wade or Melo or any other addition.

PG- Thomas 30/Rose 18
SG- JR 10/Korver 15/ Rose 10/ Crowder 13
SF- Lebron 14/ Crowder 14/ JR 14/ Green 6
PF- Love 20/ Lebron 18/ Green 10
C- TT 28/ Lover 12/ Frye 8

On B2B, you give Korver (+5) , Crowder (+1), & Green (+12) an extra few minutes. Keep TT & JR where they are at, and reduce the rest accordingly. Substitute Frye for Zizic's 8 minutes.

RJ, Shump, Calderon, & Osman don't have any slotted minutes and fill in where they can. RJ likely transitions to that James Jones role, but is still more productive. Calderon only plays when injury occurs or we give Rose a night off. Osman & Zizic only get extended burn in a blowout.

Shump is literally left with no role. Even if we were to move him, I don't know what minutes the incoming player could even have.
