2017 Cleveland Browns Defense

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Easy guys, this isn't a NSFW thread.

I've also thought for a long time that they should be censoring Ryan Stiles's nose on TV. :chuckle:

One of the worst starting CBs in the league over the last two years, if I'm not mistaken.

My PFF membership expired though, and I don't feel like re-upping at this point though.
Very bad in 2014-15 but rebounded in 2016 to be the 55th ranked CB by PFF with a grade of 74.1

Kirksey is indeed probably the the best non-first round pick in new Browns history.
Kirksey has that potential but no way has he passed D'qwell Jackson or to be honest probably even Rubin.

Those were just the first two to come to my head. I'm sure I'm missing some.

Edit: I also think Ogbah is going to run away with that title in a few years as well.

All aboard the Ogbah Express. Dude is going to be a star

Andra Davis the LB was a great value pick too.

Does newly signed veteran CB Jason McCourty bring anything to the depth chart? I'm pretty sure he was solid when healthy. Groin injury may have set him back and revved his decline. Once upon a time him and Haden were top 5 worst contracts at their position.

Just have a feeling our defense will be better than expected. I think we will be able to put some serious pressure on the QB.

True. I was only looking at the first 3 rounds. Aside from Jackson and Rubin, Andra Davis (5), TJ Ward (2), and Chris Crocker (3) would be other candidates. I think Kirksey is already approaching D'Qwell Jackson's level and as a 3rd rounder will end up as a greater value than Jackson who was a very early 2nd.

He would've ranked 2nd in CBs last year in PFF grade.

But he was really bad the previous two years so we've got to hope it was a technical thing he straightened out (I personally don't know much about him)

I agree. Kirksey was a great pick.

Rubin in the 6th will always be hard to beat. He was a very good nose for us for many years. And he was surprisingly good when we were in a 4-3. One of the 'cockroaches' of our many regime changes.

Someone did a google search today.

I was a fan of Dylan McCutcheon in the 4th, played his whole career with the Browns and is an assistant with the Jets now. If they retained TJ Ward I would have voted for him. That's the biggest problem with that Farmer Era @Matches , even if you think highly of his individual picks he gutted the franchise of it's young vets who should be leaders right now. He set the franchise back five years with how he approached free agency and building a foundation.

Anthony Henry was the 4th rounder. McCutcheon was 3rd round

Techinically we picked up Derick Anderson as a rookie free agent off of a practice squad and he made a pro bowl, sad but he has to be considered for that reason. Not many pro bowlers since the return.

That Pro Bowl season gets a huge asterisk because it included a 4-interception melt-down against the Bengals on December 23rd in Cincinnati that cost us the playoffs. I was at that game. My balls still start freezing when I think about it.

I hate Derek Anderson. Hate him.

Me too, but he did make a pro bowl, and so it is worth atleast noting.
