Been on the Goldy train for a few years...love to have him on the Tribe...played against him, dude is a monster. Price would be ridiculous though...but maybe the new front office wants to makeup their prospect loss from all their dumbass trades they've made recently.

That gif cracked me up.

Would love to have Goldschmidt on this team, but yeah, it'd take a load of prospects. My thing is I know the Dolans always said when the time was right they'd go all in and shit, and I know they're starting to spend more more money. I wonder if the front office would take that approach too.

Might not happen, but I wouldn't be surprised if a big trade was made for a bat in the offseason.

Perfect gif for your post...looked like another generic "Carrasco, Salazar, Branley will be back" post and then bam, Goldy. Peaked the interest.

And I'm pretty convinced they trade an MLB level SP and Lonnie for something this winter. At least that's what I would explore if I was them.

I'm all for Goldy, but I'm holding onto Zimmer because he's ready next year. I think that's a prime bat to add on our club, you're talking dynasty, STL Cardinals type organization with our pitching, hitting, managing.

Give them the Lucroy package and plus another top guy. But damn I really think we'd all love Greg Allen as a pro. What team can say no to Meija right now? He should be circled on every teams possible target.

Can't afford Goldschmidt after whet try dealt for Miller. Team needs to keep Zimmer, and Sheffield/Frazier would have been part of that package.

Don't underestimate this farm. Their are some great names down there. If you think Frazier/Sheffield was the end all then you're wrong. I'd trade them that kid we just drafted....

The Indians, when they are discussing if they should trade him or not.

C is such a weak spot in the MLB right now that if you have a good one at the dish, it's like having another DH in your lineup compared to other teams. Why it would have cost him to get Lucroy, who is what we hope Mejia is at the MLB level. Plus defense, plus bat.

Can't tell you how happy I am that Lucroy blocked that deal...especially now that we proved we didn't need him in the 1st place to be successful.

Really, the prospects who could be moved, IMO, would be Clevinger, Gonzalez, Morimando, Kaminsky...guys like that. Don't think they are going to dip into their top lot after the Miller trade.

My hope is that they package Lonnie with a few mid level prospects for an everyday CF on a shorter deal, and move Naquin to RF and platoon him with Guyer.

Yeah, maybe. If it's an absurd price that clears out our entire farm obviously I wouldn't do it.

I think it would cost one of our starters. And not Tomlin, Clevinger, or Merritt...but Salazar or Carrasco.

Goldy would be very expensive.

Ok, so here's a question: worth it?

We're in the World Series without either of them.

He has almost no value right now. Plus he is a highly touted huge boom or huge bust guy right now, and those prospects usually aren't moved until they trend one way or the other.

For the right player, maybe. Keep in mind we can't do what we are doing in the playoffs in the regular season...we'd have no bullpen by the beginning of the summer. And as much as I love Clevinger, I'm just not sure he can make it through 180-200 IP right now without something creeping up on him.

But pitching trumps all right now in the league, that's pretty apparent. And when Carrasco and Salazar are healthy, they are 2 of the best pitchers in the game, they've proved that. There's a reason they said no to all the trades they were offered for those guys this past winter. As long as we have them and Kluber on roster, which we will till the end of the decade, we will always be a threat to do something like we are doing right now. Why I would hesitate.

Cavs almost won a title without Love or Irving and the national media used that a fuel for Love trades. You are kind of doing the same. The team isn't in the playoffs without Salazars first half or Carrascos contributions this year, so no, they can't afford to lose their production and still make the playoffs. They need them. After Salazars bouts all year with arm problems- which is basically a return to his arm issues in the minors, the ones that caused him to take 7 years to get here despite an electric arm- I can't possibly see the DBacks centering a deal around him. They would want Cookie and his friendly deal. I don't think the Tribe had the starter depth to afford to lose him, especially with Salazar's ongoing arm troubles.

The offense just looks like shit right now. But it's against good pitching every night, I guess, is the excuse. It performed much better over the course of the regular season.

Just hoping they don't rest on their laurels, win or lose.

And no, I'm not confident in Salazar going forward either.
