2017 Cleveland Indians

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I realize that for Lindor but how is that exciting? Lindor will be entering his prime in 2020.

He will be here long term. He is the star and face of the franchise.

It's 4 more years. Plus, I assume we'll add a couple more years of team control when we buy out some arbitration years.

How could that not be exciting?

I really hope Ramirez keeps up this level of play next year when we re-integrate Brantley.

I'm not expecting .312 again, but damn, the kid only just turned 24. If he can hit .280+ and keep roping doubles along with a healthy Brantley, damn we could be good.

Lindor, Brantley, Kipnis, and Ramirez isn't going to provide a ton of pop, but they all can definitely hit .280+ with 40+ doubles next season. Throw in Santana and hopefully Napoli's 30 HR power threat, and a healthy Yan Gomes, and our lineup already looks pretty damn good going into next year.

With the exception of his 20 year old season at AA, Jose has hit .300+ at every level. My bold prediction for next year is that he wins the batting title.

I just hope this team can get back at some point. They deserve it.

I agree wholeheartedly. We will just have to run on people and play small ball.

A few things I would like to see:
Brantley- Please come back healthy and hit .290+ with around 20 HRs. That production would consolidate pretty much all of the platoon guys and release some pressure off of them.

Naquin- What does he become? He struck out a ton, but there were some numbers thee to feel good about a rookie. Does be become an everyday player? We sure as hell could use his speed. If he can hover around .285 and hit 15-20 HRs from CF, he would be a monster (hit 14 this year).

Ramirez- Exactly what you said.

Gomes- If healthy should be a huge addition offensively. Not to take anything away from Perez, but Gomes did a phenomenal job calling games until his injury. Despite being a liability at the plate, IMO he is a big reason our staff got off to a hot start.

Kipnis- Keep on, keepin' on.

1B- We need one power hitter. Even if he struggles in the WS, Napoli is a major reason we are here. Cant let him walk. It would be hard to find his production in FA or via trade.

Zimmer- I would like to see him called up, but his SO rate concerns me if he came up to the big league level.

The pitching staff is in a great spot. We get our 5 back healthy, we also have Merritt & Clevenger both ready to go in spot starts. I am not giving up on Bauer. Something is there with the kid. IMO he got gassed headed into the playoffs. Im damn proud of the way he came in last night and got 2 big outs. We stuck with Carrasco and look how that turned out. He & Bauer are one in the same. My only regret is Tito not bringing him in earlier. Who knows what could have happened.

Bullpen was outstanding this season. I pray to God they can recapture that magic next year. I would like us to find one more big arm to lock us down.

RF- Consolidate and improve. Guyer & Chiz are great as role players, but neither is every day. One + prospects has to be moved for an upgrade. Not sure where you get it from though. I am half tempted to give it to Zimmer, move Chiz for parts and call it a day.

Season ticket holders: do you get a parking pass? If so, how much?

What is up with Santana and his contract situation?

With Brantley and Salazar and a rookie call up, is their a spot for Napoli? Use that 12 mill or so elsewhere? Maybe even upgrade?

I get Napoli was big in the clubhouse, but others will step up i would think.

Pitching staff is set. I'm not ready to give up on Bauer, either. You gotta figure that we might be having a different discussion altogether if the Indians hadn't lost Cookie and Salazar within a little over a week of each other.

And if they do give up on Bauer, I feel good with Clevinger or Merritt coming in and taking his place in the rotation. I tend to think they'll stick with him longer than perhaps Josh Tomlin, if anyone is going to be jettisoned from the rotation/team.

Lindor/Ramirez locked up until 2020. Miller until 2019. Pitching staff locked up until 2020 as well.

Was actually just looking at the team contracts, and Lindor is good through the 2021 season, Ramirez through 2020, and the starters are all through 2020 as well. So, even better than you thought.

I wish we could find a legitimate instant power hitter somewhere. Its crazy how organizations find guys like Stanton, Bryant, etc and they get called up immediately.

Dream scenario: Let Napoli walk and trade prospects for Paul Goldschmidt.
