Curious if the Tigers would move JD Martinez, on top of trying to still sell high with Verlander and Miggy...free agent next winter, and it doesn't sound like they are going to extend him.

That franchise really needs a shot to the farm...they pretty much don't have one right now...

I think the playoffs showed that over-reliance and overworking any one reliever will eventually come back to bite you, no matter how good that reliever may be.

Also, re-signing Chapman makes little sense for the Yankees unless they think they're already ready to contend this year.

They had a $220 million dollar payroll in a year where they won what, 84 games?

Does another $20 million even matter to them?

I agree it doesn't make sense but that won't stop the Yankees from getting a player they want if they are determined to sign him.

Makes the most sense for them, either him or Encarnacion. They just cleared 16m in salary, majority of their hitters are still young and cheap, makes a lot of sense.

Rays are listening to offers for Evan Longoria...Dodgers a team to watch if they lose Justin Turner

Yankees are trying to trade away Brian McCann

Dodgers looking to trade Howie Kendrick

Marlins are listening to offers on Marcell Ozuna (for a 2nd straight winter)

Astros have money/prospects to spend and are looking to make either a blockbuster signing or trade for a bat


As for actual transactions:

Angels re-signed Andrew Bailey to a 1 year deal, and DFA'd our old pal Shane Robinson
