2018 Buckeyes Football

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Texts, pictures, having an affair is going to be known by the coach because he makes $7 million?

Yeah, nah...

Even knowing about that isn’t something you fire him for.

Simply put, if he ever put his hands on a woman and Urban knew, then he can go

Until then, I don’t give two shits about Zach Smith’s dick

Yep.

All this shit about getting dildos delivered at work and taking dick picks is irrelevant. Just muddying the issue, and it's quite frankly embarrassing for people trying to run with those aspects of this story as if they are evidence of anything. I'm willing to bet 90% of the people out there throwing mud about those things have some embarrassing shit we could dig up on them and make them look like an asshole about.

It comes down to the domestic violence. If Urban knew and did nothing, he can go and we can bring in Matt Campbell or some fucktard next offseason and begin rebuilding this program. If that isn't the case, though, can we please just play some fucking football?

I could not agree more. If he covered it up and knew for a fact it happened then he has to go. If he knew about the issues, and believed his guy and the police then I think it’s a grey area. I am pretty sure had he not been close to Urban he is released or fired sooner. But I have a hard time throwing Urban under the bus for believing his guy, exspecially after the police cleared and said there was not enough for an arrest.

Lots of fear mongering in here over irrelevant sex toys and pictures.

If it’s on Wednesday, I’d imagine it will leak by Wednesday night.

The formal decision probably won't be made until the end of the week. But I'd guess that the key fact - what exactly did Meyer know to be true, and whether or not he reported it correctly - likely will leak before the decision itself.

See, it’s not just the abuse. It’s the neglect and turning a blind eye. Facts, it’s been happening for almost a decade. I can understand an allegation, no charges and bringing him back to coach, then happening again, you have to part ways. It’s not much money and he’s a WR coach. The texts, pictures, having an affair on school grounds, dick pics in the fucking White House? You can’t tell me Urban didn’t know. Even if he did “notify” someone “above” him, he’s the man in charge. A coach making $7 million a year calls the shots, don’t be ignorant.
Look, I like Urban, I respect the university, but Urban F’d up. This guy should have never been coaching after the 2015 incident. This was 100% a bad judgment decision by Urban and it’s goIng to haunt his legacy. For the universities sake, they need to let him go. If the university keeps him, all the details will come out and make the school look really bad and that it’s all about the money he brings in. Time to cut bait and start over and make the positive image to everyone in the country.
As a guy who doesn’t live in OH, not even a major Buck fan, the school and Urban look like the covered and tried to hide a bunch of shit. Just my opinion from the outside.

I don't agree with your viewpoint, but I do think your viewpoint will be shared by the staff - basically that the optics of it alone and media attention are bad enough that they just want to distance the University from it. Only way to do that in the eyes of the media and de-risk any blowback from the Me-Too crowd is to clean house. Everyone would have their pound of flesh and it would end it. Zach Smith, the guy who actually did something, isn't enough - they will want to take down the big fish and that's Urban Meyer.

I think that's a huge mistake, and will create a trickle down effect of other problems (not to mention they will literally have to pay Urb $40 mill) but it is what it is.

So from what’s out there it seems like it’s down to these options.

If Urban DID report the DV accusation upstairs in 2015 the board has two options:
- reinstate him fully and face a short term social riot until Maryland makes their decisions
Or
- suspend/fire Urban to appease public relations, but face paying Urban $40 million plus and risk Urban turning around and bringing his lawyers against the school. While also risking Urban turning a different program into a powerhouse next year and scaring off potential replacements by not having your coach’s back for following protocol to appease social media warriors.

If Urban DIDNT report the DV:
- suspend/fire him. AKA: fire him

Seems like it’s the first scenario. It would take about 10 minutes of going through the office computers to see if there’s a report, and if there wasn’t this could’ve been over 2 weeks ago. Looks to me like they’re either trying to find a way to calm the social media barrage they’ll face by keeping him or they’re looking through legal shit to see if they can get out of the $40 million pay day they’d give Urb.

The sex toys and dick pics do nothing but add to the trashy reputation of Zach. This says nothing about Urban.

Pretty good chance Meyer is Thamel's source, here..

Thamel has sources on the board, too.

He’s very well connected with all things OSU.

This is a seriously underrated point...

No high end coach is ever coming here again if they fire Urban without cause. Why would they? At that point, Ohio State would become the place where coaches go to die. Think about that for a second...

Urban is not getting fired unless he did something wrong. If they wanted to fire him to appease the mob, it would have happened already. The mob has already died down. It will never reach the point it was at when the story first broke, even if/when he's fully reinstated.

If he did what he needed to do, people will get over it.
