2018 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Darnold is just...so talked down on on here, if you only read RCF you'd think he was like a C prospect. I'd really be happy with either Rosen or Darnold. My concerns with Rosen are strictly durability, not skill-based. Don't really care about the so-called "character" concerns anymore, those are clearly bullshit. But it just amuses me how Rosen is like the third or fourth QB mentioned in the media, but on here he's a slam dunk lock and Darnold an afterthought.

Not speaking for or against either one- if you put a gun to my head, I'd say take Darnold, but again, I'm happy with either. Right now I'd be shocked if they took Rosen, though.

I disagree on Darnold. If he was in the 2015 draft he would be clearly behind Goff and Wentz. Rosen would be on par with them. If he was in the 2014 draft once again he would be in the next tier behind Winston and Mariota and Rosen would be in the top group with them.

I really don't think this is an either or choice. the choice is Rosen. Now I don't think this is like the 2011 class where people Cam was clearly the best QB. The gap isn't as big as his was.

The problem for me is not Rosens talent, it's his health. His concussion history is concerning. Darnold is a big kid and can take hits better. And he is still only 20 years old.

Eh....okay....I'd need to hear a lot more to be convinced that Darnold is actually this mediocre prospect and the majority of NFL personnel guys dont see him going at #1.

You just like him for his Lamar take, clearly. :chuckle:

Nah I really see where he's coming from on Darnold. After that Rose Bowl he got all of that artificial hype. There were people saying if he was draft eligible last season he would've been the slam dunk #1 pick. His hype was insane and after a mediocre season or a season in which he didn't live up to the lofty expectations people don't wanna walk back all the hype so they just stick by what they said a year ago. that's why when people try to make a case for Darnold over Rosen it always sound like they are reaching for reasons to put Darnold above Rosen but when it's the other way around...you don't really have to reach at all to make a case for Rosen as the top QB and #1 overall pick.

Yes, Rosen’s history scares me. Yeah, he’s cleared to play, but whose to say in 2020 he takes another major hit and he can’t be outside without headaches. What if his symptoms last for months and not days.
Injuries can happen any time, to any person, but concussions are different than an ACL or something. Concussions linger and just make you feel sick and not normal. Once you get to a certain point in your head, it doesn’t go back to being normal again. Read the studies. The history he has with concussions is serious and should cause a pause in his evaluation.

So Dorsey basis his evaluation over media hype? If Dorsey says Darnold is the man, it’s not because of jackass Cowherd who pumps him every single day.

Watching them.
Oh okay. Yeah, I don't agree. Nobody has a better arm than Rosen in this draft. Allen's is probably a little stronger but it certainly isn't better.

Darnold's arm is certainly great as well, though.

What’s considered “better” other than arm strength LOL
