2019 NBA Draft

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
My favorite player in this draft is Ja Morant

Collin Sexton has no bearing on who I would pick with this selection, at all.

I would take Morant over Zion Williamson in a heartbeat

This is giving me really bad flashbacks.

"Bennett is 10x the player TT is, Tristan has 0 bearing on who we should draft, and Bennett will starting from day one. He has more talent in one finger than Tristan has in his whole body."

No offense, but you have said something eerily similar before.

I know Morant looks good, but I think he has more question marks than people are letting on.

I love Morant and he's clearly the 2nd best player in the draft.

Absolutely no way would I take Morant over Zion.

Fletcher McGee worked out with Cavs today. Didn’t look good.

According the instagram, point guard Shannon Bogues (S.F.A. State University) worked out for Cavs on 5/8. Cavs also worked out with forward Obi Toppin.

I worry about the ultimate net value of any college player who shows no interest in playing any defense.

A little while ago I highlighted some players who had remarkably good on/off splits, indicating a clear positive impact on team success at the NCAA level. Here are some players who had poor on/off splits, suggesting that they probably had, at best, a neutral effect on team success at the NCAA level:

Cam Reddish, -2 points per 100 net. That's the third-worst mark of any Duke player, and puts him significantly behind Zion, RJ, and Tre, who all fell between +17 and +13.

Keldon Johnson, -4 points per 100 net. That's the third-worst mark of any Kentucky player, significantly behind PJ Washington at +15.

KZ Okpala, -2 points per 100 net. That's the third-worst mark of any Stanford player.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker, -10 points per 100 net. That's the third-worst mark of any VT player.

Kevin Porter Jr, -2 points per 100 net. That's the second-worst mark of any USC player.

Romeo Langford, -5 points per 100 net. That's the worst mark of any Indiana player.

My guess is they all had bad defensive ratings as well?

Yup, all negatives on defense. Would be mildly surprised if even one of them ends up being a positive-impact defensive player in the NBA.

Hypothetical that's not been discussed yet here. Say the Cavs fall to 6th in the draft (20.1% chance), and the draft order goes as follows:

1. Zion
2. Morant
3. Barrett
4. Culver
5. Hunter

Let's say there's also no trade out opportunities that the Cavs like. Who are you taking in this spot?

People are talking about Darius Garland, but you think it really would be an good fit?

Coby White and it isn't close. I would take White over Hunter at 5.

I think my pick list after those 5 would be:

1. Jaxson Hayes
2. Coby White
3. Cam Reddish

I know a lot of people hate Reddish, and I think that's justified. The guy didn't seem to step up his game even when Zion was out, but I saw some brief flashes of a high upside.

Zion
Ja
Barrett
Hunter
White
Culver

My top 6,, I think White would be taken before Culver,,,which if we are sitting at 6 would not be a good thing.
But a lot of it depends on where Chicago and Phoenix fall,,,they may value Garland at 4 or 5.
