2023-24 Season | Game #19 | Trail Blazers @ Cavs | Nov. 30, 2023 | 7:00 p.m.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
One thing I'll say in defense of Garland. While he's not better than Mitchell, I do think he makes others around him better, unlike Mitchell. Garland is flawed as a player, I get that. And yes, Mitchell is definitely better than him.

I don't think Mitchell makes anyone around him better, in fact, I think he makes guys around him worse. At least our guys. Not a lot, but slightly, because everyone has to alter their game to him, and he doesn't alter his game to anyone else.

In Utah, it worked, because he had different personnel. And they really didn't very skilled offensive players, just guys that can stand around, and just catch and shoot.

He's a great offensive player, but he's basically just a solo act.

I just don't like it. Nothing personal, it's just who he is, and I don't think he can change.
Garlsnd hurts this team too much with not just his turnovers but where they happen. His turnovers always leads to fast break baskets because he turns the ball over out front.
This team really is too guard dependent.
Mitchell or Garland needs to go. We need a long true SF……put this in the trade Ms home and it was successful.

Nets get Garland

Cavs get Bridges and Dimiwiddie

Nets could use a young PG (Dimwiddie and Simmons aren’t it)

We put Bridges at the SF, move Strus to SG and DM to the point.

Or Nets get Mitchell (gets him close to home)

Cavs get Bridges and D Finney-Smith

Just spitting in the wind.

I'd trade Mitchell for Bridges straight up TBH, I just know the Nets would pass on it. Garland would never fetch Bridges.

I don't think Mitchell would either. That would be my dream scenario, honestly.

The fit would be PERFECT. And Mitchell wants to be in New York. Brooklyn is really high on Bridges, though. And I don't think they'd do it.

Yall can keep going back and forth but JBB is the biggest reason this offense doesn't click. Not Mitchell. Not Garland. Not the combination of Mitchell and Garland. It's JBB.

Salaries won’t work for a straight up trade!
The Nets might do it to keep him from NY ;)

Brooklyn claimed they would only trade Bridges for 4 first round picks. I don't know if that's true, or not, but I guess they are that high on him. He was a very undervalued player by the Suns. Yeah, I wish we could snag him for Mitchell. I really thought the Nets won the Durant trade. Pretty easily.

Well, I mean straight up, you throw in whatever table scraps to make it work. I'd be curious if the Nets would be interested. Problem is, would Mitchell re-sign? And I don't see the Nets going anywhere, so if he won't commit, I imagine they'd say hell no.

I think he wants to be with the Knicks, because they have a team more in place than the Nets.

The Blazers are much better than their record; now that they have everybody except Simons healthy they lost to 13-6 Milwaukee by 6 on the road and beat 9-8 Indy on the road in their last game. They were playing really hard in the 4th quarter and once they got the lead they could smell a win.

That being said, if the Cavs didn't have their worst 3-point shooting night of the year (22%) they win this one. Just 10-for-32 from deep would have given them 9 more points and the win. Mitchell was 1-for-9 on 3's.

Garland had a horrible game, going 6-for-18 with 8 turnovers. So did LeVert, who was 2-for-9 from the field and a -17 in 26 minutes. Their bench outscored ours 31-16.

We also would have won if not for a career game by Shaedon Sharpe; 29 points on 11-for-15 with 10 boards and 5 assists. He came in shooting 39% overall and 32% from deep, but tonight he was on fire. The other guy that killed us was their backup center, Duop Heath, a 27-year-old rookie who had 13 points on only five shots and was a +14 in 18 minutes. He's averaging 6.2 points.

All the Cavs needed to do was hit 33% of their 3's and they win this game, however. And it's not like they were forcing up contested 3's. They just kept missing open looks. They should have gone to the bucket more. Some nights the outside shots just aren't falling for anybody.

If Mitchell and Garland just had average (for them) games, nothing special, we win this one by 15. Garland, Mitchell, and Strus combined to go 4-for-23 on 3's. They almost missed five out of six. Mind boggling.

Yep. 14-35 vs 7-32 on 3s. That's the game right there.

If we had a coach who knew how to make in game adjustments we would have won!

A "Knicks-type" loss. Abysmal shooting from our shooters and some of the looks were worse. It was a bad sign that the first made 3 was from OKORO.

I didn't like the fact that both Mobley and Allen were virtually frozen out on offense in the second half.

JBB is basically No. 3 on the "anger totem", No 1 and 2 were our starting guards.
Both DG and Donovan doing too much driving into traffic and not letting go of that ball when the pressure was on.

Defensively, Allen was forced to do too much. Should have seen more Okoro or more strategic Okoro use. Sharpe and Thybulle were doing way too much.

Thybulle hitting 1 3-pointer, much less 4 of them is an abomination.

Don't blame JA for leaving the building early. Still turned in a double double with multiple steals and being forced to do all that shit on defense only not to really get the ball in the 2nd half?

This team is its most pungent when they have a big lead and refuse to add onto it with anything other than heat checks. If you ain't got it, defer. There are other guys on the team who can get it done.

Mobley Masterclass ruined.

Why would you trade allen? Unless joker, g8annus or someone comparable is coming back you will lose more value than you get
Whatever it takes to get more better wings and value for Mitchell. I’m not a fan of the twin towers and the twin midgets approach. That’s an ass-backwards approach to building a team.

Why can’t it be both?
