I miss the BCS days.
Well, probably a lot of the fans and players of teams that want to watch/play football, and who don't want to see their seasons shortened by two games.

Tough sell that more meaningful football is bad.
Should one regular season loss ruin a season for every team in the nation, is that a fair balance of importance between regular season and postseason?
Instead of flowing the same 4-6 teams through, it’s more meaningful for fans, coaches and players to stay locked in for the season knowing there is still a chance they don’t have to play in a bowl game where a Pop Tarts is summarily executed.
Instead, their late season games ALL matter and the weekly slate is more diverse and meaningful.
The belief that the regular season matters less makes no sense, it means so much more for about 8-10 more teams (and their opponents) depending on where they land.
I guess, but the fact that ND gets an auto-bid in this scenario if they finish in the top 14 would lead me to believe a lot of fuckery is going to happen. What does ND have to do to qualify every year? They’ll play USC, Navy, their 4-6 ACC games. As long as they lose no more than 2-3 games, they can schedule no one the rest of the year and make it without playing a conference championship game.
Okay? That’s a pretty reasonable schedule.
Seems extreme and a bit far fetched, but good luck to them getting through that gauntlet of a post season.
If that is the trade off for basically all of the Top 25 having late season playoff implications, seems fair.
Does Notre Dame still bring in ratings? They havent' been good in years and the draw of being the Catholic school doesn't seem to be as big
