#52 DeShone Kizer

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm getting excited about kizer... hope he can be the guy
I keep telling myself it's only training camp but I get so excited about the fact that he could be the real deal and we have all that draft capital next year to address lesser needs than QB. I start to panic a bit but in a good way:

I'll say this about Kizer. He sure looks like an NFL QB.

Now go and sit the first 10 weeks of the season.

Why are people suddenly getting excited about him?

Why are people suddenly getting excited about him?

Because the media has been all over how well he's performed in camp--which is nothing new with our media and rookies.

However, Hue Jackson has basically said he's way ahead of schedule and better than they thought he'd be.

That's the part that makes us think he has a chance to win this job.

I think what has me most excited is the constant reminder that Kizer is learning super fast. What a breath of fresh air for us Browns fans.

When you listen to the kid talk, you can see he oozes intelligence. Something we haven't had at this position since returning in 99.

If Jackson can fix the mechanical errors that he has, and fine tune his skills. You have to think that Kizer has the best shot at becoming the franchise QB we've been so desperately missing for almost 20 years now, in the best situation it seems like we've been in since the return.

Sounds like every other QB we've gone through.

EVERY other?! :chuckle:

That needs to be updated. Gotta toss:
Davis
McCown
RG3
Kessler
Hogan

On there. And Shaw is missing. He did start a game.

Am I missing anyone?

If Kizer and Oz both play at some point this year and both end up on the IR at the same time, requiring replacement, this storied franchise will achieve the "Dirty Thirty" QB mark they've been chasing for all these years.

Command of the huddle, zip/touch on balls thrown at all levels, knowing what checks to make and when. These are all things I've heard consistently about Kizer thus far. The momentum with the "smoke" is getting stronger towards starting Kizer out of the gates, which is what I think gets everyone excited.

Kizer still must work on his footwork in the pocket (which isn't terrible) and accuracy on short throws. I'd guess he has decision making improvement to be had as well. As others have said, though, it's Kizer's physical make-up that is also getting folks excited. He's a big dude.

Does it?

We're sure it's not the most played out meme self loathing browns fans and media use?

Since when are you averse to beating dead horses?
