76ers/Cavs Talking Trade?

One thing I do doubt though (And I have heard this a LOT) is that Philly wants more than Danny is willing to give for 'Dre, so I seriously doubt that he will return to Cleveland.

Or, could this be why this Miller trade just hasn't happened yet, and Ferry might be willing to wait it out till the deadline? If true, that would suck, as our playoff hopes could already be dwindling down too much by then to save our season from that point(I still think if our team is more properly coached, that we will still be in the race with our current roster).

But, if this could save a 1st Round pick or something, I might take the chance too and wait it out as well if I were in his shoes. I think this is because teams who trade talent for expiring contracts (like Newble) would prefer to wait till later in the season, closer to deadline time. A team is in no rush to get expirings, while we are in desperation for a PG talent right now. I guess a Hughes trade could be done at the moment cause that would mean a team actually sees talent that can be utilized from him. Or a trade involving Gooden.

To sum it up, it's probably just too early in the season to get a trade off that involves an offer based on expirings. Unless we throw something extra that will taint our future or core even more.

Some good points were made here. The main reason I don't see Miller coming here is because Miami can give them a better deal, among others.

Simmons, Shannon, Damon, Drew, Ira, Snow, and Larry are the names that are being talked about the most (no surprise there) in connection with trades that the Cavs are trying to initiate.

Also... It has been said that Gibson is not untouchable.

But we can give up a pick. I'm not sure Miami even has one. Surely they're in no rush and just hoping someone gets desperate and raises the ante - and maybe Miami even has other ideas - after all if all Philly wants is Jayson Wiliams why wouldn't they have pulled off the deal already?

Perhaps what you said: They're waiting for someone to up the ante.

That leaves McGrady. He's always banged up. The Rockets are struggling. Yao and he have not met expectations in previous years. Fans are questioning his heart and toughness. They could use another big man along side Yao. Unfortunately, they are definitely not an up tempo team.

Actually Rick Adelman has turned them into an up tempo team, or at least he's tried to.

They are in the bottom half of the league in pace. Good luck trying to run with Yao as your number one option.

T Mac?

Looking at the remaining 3 players from the Cavs perspective, I don't think Gasol fits, with us having Z here already. Kirilenko wouldn't be too bad; he could start at the 3, with LBJ moving to SG, and Andy starting at PF. And, in my opinion, Baron Davis would be a great fit here, but I think Don Nelson probably likes what he has with Baron running his team.

So there you have it, at least form my perspective. Of course, there is probably a player form a fast-paced offensive team that I missed, and all of the above analysis was done for nothing.

Okay, it is officially Christmas. Here is my present: I will tell the name of the rumored player in the trade that the Cavaliers are supposedly trying to swing, although I am sure to get blasted for it....just wait till after the holidays to be mean, please.

The Player: Tracy McGrady

Doh! I knew it, all of my analysis was for nothing. Shows what I know about which teams in the league are fast paced, I guess.

Since you named him I won't blast you. I personally just like a name to associate with the rumors so that they're not as ambiguous. Now that we know it's McGrady, we can imagine some scenarios to get him here.

That said...who the HELL do we have that the Rockets would want??

Heath,

haven't seen max and W&G weigh in, so I will reserve my opinion. However the unlove that you see on the board is reflecting the way you go about introducing ideas like this.

Merry Christmas, Happy Hannakah, Happy Kwansa, and a general Seasons reetings to all.

He has to get his posts in now because once the trade deadline comes, he knows his spouting off at the mouth with stupid trade ideas is useless so he won't have anything to post til summer.

First,

IF this had been a trade "idea", as you referred to it, then it couldn't possibly be "stupid" as an idea is an opinion.

Second,

I think you drank too much egg-nog this morning, as your assertion that I "need" to get my posts in, infers that I have a quota of "stupid trade ideas."

I can assure you that all my "stupid posts" are made/done at my leisure and I am in no way obligated to produce a minimum number of controversial posts.

Third,

I thought that I might go ahead and tell you this one little tid-bit of information...since you are in such a jolly spirit:

IT's CHRISTMAS!!!

Lighten-up a little, and hope for LeBron to score 100 points this afternoon so we can win a game.

Merry Christmas!

I hope your New Years resolution is to never post your dumb ideas anymore or your fake inside information.

::Cross fingers:::

This guys needs to be banned.

I think Heathmalc just made all of this up. He is now going say since the injury to McGrady has happened the trade was called off or some lame thing like that.

Some people are just picky and only like trade rumors that have an iota of substantiation or reliability.
