A Closer Look at Joel Embiid's Injured Foot

A Closer Look at Joel Embiid

Players like this make me so pissed off at how terrible last years draft was. We win the lottery just to get a guy who would've been a mid-1st round pick in this draft.

Re: A Closer Look at Joel Embiid

Is anyone watching this game? He's absolutely dominant on both ends of the court. No doubt in my mind he's the #1 pick.

He's putting on a show.

It's unreal how much "fuck you" he has in his game now. He's downright scary to play against when he's angry....

I would give up anyone on this roster for him, Kyrie included-- I think he's that good. He's a difference maker at the hardest position to fill and has an endless compete level.

Re: A Closer Look at Joel Embiid

He's the #1 pick no questions asked

Re: A Closer Look at Joel Embiid

Embid is going to be the best center to ever play the game. Yes it is a very bold statement but he only started to play basketball a few years ago and still has a lot of muscle to add to his frame and his growth already is excellent. He stroked a 18 foot jumpshot the other game I watched and he had good form already. Dwight Howard cant even shoot a 12 foot jump shot.

I guess the Bucks fans have something to look forward to

Woah now, slow down there, bub. I've been on the Joel hype train for a while now (hell, I might be the conductor), but that's a ridiculously lofty statement to make. Best center in the league in 7-8 years, sure, but best center ever? Way too many great, great big men have played this game to just toss that prediction out there.

That said, I just keep coming away even more impressed than the last time... which I didn't think was possible. His understanding of the game on the offensive side is phenomenal. Its such a shame the Cavs landed the #1 pick a year before him. And the year after Anthony Davis... typical Cleveland luck, I guess.

Bye Joel, I will enjoy your development from a far....

Willie Cauley-Stein next on the list?

Yes sir, find a way to bring that toughness here, somehow.

Sad to think, you could get a Wilt Chamberlain (via territory) or a Hakeem Olajuwon if you have the #1 overall pick, you can draft a Shaquille O'Neal or Kobe Bryant too. We get a guy who can't even compare to Brandon Bass, let alone David West or something decently palatable.

You need to research Wilt Chamberlain, there will never be another like him. You need to research Shaquille O'Neal, there will never be another like him. People don't focus on the game like they used to, Bill Russell? Lew Alcindor? There will never be another like him.

The kid needs to study Hakeem, as he's so similar in build to the Dream. Physically, he couldn't hold a candle to Wilt, Shaq, or Kareem. He's mighty skilled, but the pantheon of great big men has too many mythical specimens for Joel to compete for GOAT.

Re: A Closer Look at Joel Embiid

He'll go to Duncan's big man camp. He's a prime candidate to replace duncan as the next elite big. I don't know if Embiid will be prime shaq, but i think he has a duncan like ceiling. He can make some all defensive teams, and run quite a bit of offense. Looks like the next great 2 way big man. I think Oden would of been more of a post center if healthy. Embiid has more potential offensively. And given the way the league is going it might benefit him to add the jumper.

Re: A Closer Look at Joel Embiid

Just wow in tonight's game. The offensive touch, the aggressiveness, athleticism, the defense--what a package.

Lots to work on, and just now beginning to be developed. Looks like the next Kareem to me.

Never thought that I would say that again in my lifetime....

Ehhhh... Until well Miami. No really that Is how we felt about LeBron but we all knew he was superstar. Emblid "could" be. So If the Bucks get them well good for them.. But I am calling It here and now. Embiid to the Magic with the Number one Pick.

Re: A Closer Look at Joel Embiid

This guy is worth tanking for. I don't care if he does not actually land here but just giving yourself a shot is fine with me. He is hitting college 3s now? My goodness. This will be a very good NBA player even if he does not fill his body out.

Re: A Closer Look at Joel Embiid

He's so damn fluid and makes it look effortless. The best comp I can give him is a 7'2 Ibaka. Needs to gain some weight, especially around his base or else he's going to get the Zeller treatment when he reaches the NBA. That said, he's been playing for, what, 3 years? Unreal. GO BENNETT!

Such is the nature of a shitty draft. The guy drafted second is probably best compared to Tony Allen. The guy drafted third is...hell, I don't even remember who was drafted third. Two injured big men, a power forward with no confidence, a guy whose ceiling is probably Tony Allen, and a small forward who might suck at basketball.

What an awesome year to get the number one pick. :thumbdown

He already is.
