Czovec... I have to challenge you on being the conductor of the Embiid train.
Im willing to die for the title. I had been getting KILLED since the Worlds game where everyone was still saying Wiggins and Parker were going to battle for #1. (Moreso on my Heels board but I came here with it too)
I said Embiid then, and I said that no matter what Self TRIED to do, GM's were going to see his fluidity and his raw talent and he'd be the #1 pick.
I came here on RCF and shared it a little bit, but Ive been convinced on this kid since before the season started. Its amazing watching him continue to develop. I mean... CRAZY. Someone said he has so much FUCK YOU to his game on defense, and THAT is the difference that will make him even better than Anthony Davis by his year 3/4. He has the Damian Lillard FUCK YOU but he's not a 6'3 scoring PG.
I am really hoping Deng sits it down and lets that achilles heal like he should... because without him, I think this team is still prime for suck as long as Mike Brown is allowed to mishandle them.
Id give up Waiters & TT and our first if its in the top 10 to get Embiid. Some dont understand how much of a game changer getting this dude would be. Pair him with Kyrie and get your 3 rings at least. Dominant duo starting 2016.
I truly think build wise, he will be fine as well. He'll probably be no less than Mutombo-build as a rookie.
I refuse to go on there and play that...
I refuse. This is a lottery team as of now, and the only thing that will take them out of that spot is if the organization sticks with pushing for the playoffs while these other orgs start justifiably tanking for the lottery.
Quite possibly the most short sighted initiative since trading the pick that would eventually be James Worthy for a bag of peanuts. Think I'll go cry in a corner now.
I don't have a big issue with his fouls. Worst case scenario he just has to play a little less aggressive on that end until he figures it out. What I would question about his game is the turnovers. If anyone watched his last two games, could you give a summary of how he managed to turn it over 11 times?
A lot of young guys struggle with fouling. Look at Zeller this year. Dude looks like a man now most of the time, but he still fouls constantly. It's one of those things that corrects itself over time for most guys, and Embiid is still so young that I don't really see it as a long-term concern.
Could Embiid end up as a better prospect than Anthony Davis by the end of this year? He's got the same athleticism with even more size, and he's showing a much greater offensive arsenal than Davis did in college. I'm blown away by how quickly he seems to be improving, it's pretty unprecedented.
