Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Re: A Closer Look at Joel Embiid

Rch, you're due after claiming your love for Len so early and often last year. Embiid is the guy.

Go get em'

Based off of last years draft they should have taken the top 7 highest rated players and put them In a hat and let the GMs pick. I for one now know wyh no matter who was high on who It did not matter. Olidipo was the closest thing to at least a solid NBA player. Cut the guy some slack as they all were average prospects. Embild looks like the opposite of Bynum 7 footer who plays with heart and has amazing moves for a guy who learned how to play then game when he was only 16. He he can add muscle and keep this explosiveness he will be the best Center In game eventually and a top 5 soon.

Embiid > Len. But Cavs luck they'll be picking outside the top 3. And with Chris Grant making the "consultation".... ugh

Re: A Closer Look at Joel Embiid

So....Embiid is still pretty freaking good.

12 pts. (on 5 shots)

12 rebounds

3 assists

5 blocks

Re: A Closer Look at Joel Embiid

Something tells me he will land in Milwaukee....and suck

Re: A Closer Look at Joel Embiid

A little scouting video I found from a couple weeks ago... Love this kids game. Great touch around the rim for a 7 footer.

Re: A Closer Look at Joel Embiid

Trade Kyrie for Embiid

Re: A Closer Look at Joel Embiid

He is suprisingly versatile for his size. He is like a more versatile Roy Hibbert. I know thats a big claim, but its accurate. Kid will be good.

That's exactly what i thought watching the scouting video... Can develop jump hooks in the lane with his soft touch and size like Hibbert as well.

Re: A Closer Look at Joel Embiid

You know what the interesting thing is? A lot of the bad teams this year are full of good, young centers... Case in point:

Milwaukee - Larry Sanders
Orlando - Nikola Vucevic
Utah - Enes Kanter / Derrick Favors / Rudy Gobert
Sacramento - DeMarcus Cousins
Philly - Nerlens Noel (unless they see him as a 4)
Brooklyn - Brook Lopez

That's 6 of the top 10 teams (not including the Cavs) that already seem pretty set at center... So it wouldn't surprise me that even if Embiid is a top-3 talent, that he falls out of the top-3 and/or top-5... Not a lot of teams need centers this year...

Right now, using the current top-10, the Lakers, Celtics, Knicks and Cavs are the teams most likely looking Embiid's way and the Celtics and Lakers are sitting at #9 and #10..

So really, I don't see too much for competition for Embiid should the Cavs want him..

I'm beginning to want to tank for Embiid now... :chuckles:

Isn't Brooklyn's pick owed to the Hawks?

Re: A Closer Look at Joel Embiid

Isn't Brooklyn's pick owed to the Hawks?

Yes it is, thank you for that...

Argument still could be made they do have Horford and whether they see him as a center or not...

Also forgot Denver will have Nuggets pick... I don't think McGee would stop them from drafting Embiid..

Point still stands though: the Cavs could potentially be in a good position if they would be hoping for Embiid to fall...

Re: A Closer Look at Joel Embiid

If Embiid is the talent many believe, quite a few of those teams might prefer to just take him and either let him develop for a year or two or trade away the guy currently in his way.

I.e. There is no team in the league in 2003 who would not have drafted LBJ or Melo(minus Dumars outsmarting himself) at SF, regardless of who else they had on their roster.

Re: A Closer Look at Joel Embiid

Bye Joel, I will enjoy your development from a far....

Willie Cauley-Stein next on the list?
