You know what the interesting thing is? A lot of the bad teams this year are full of good, young centers... Case in point:
Milwaukee - Larry Sanders
Orlando - Nikola Vucevic
Utah - Enes Kanter / Derrick Favors / Rudy Gobert
Sacramento - DeMarcus Cousins
Philly - Nerlens Noel (unless they see him as a 4)
Brooklyn - Brook Lopez
That's 6 of the top 10 teams (not including the Cavs) that already seem pretty set at center... So it wouldn't surprise me that even if Embiid is a top-3 talent, that he falls out of the top-3 and/or top-5... Not a lot of teams need centers this year...
Right now, using the current top-10, the Lakers, Celtics, Knicks and Cavs are the teams most likely looking Embiid's way and the Celtics and Lakers are sitting at #9 and #10..
So really, I don't see too much for competition for Embiid should the Cavs want him..
I'm beginning to want to tank for Embiid now... :chuckles:
