A Veteran Big

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I was just going to post that.

He'd be a decent pick up for real cheap.. hes better than Dwayne Jones and Allred and can be used for spot minutes.

why bother? He is undersized and inexperienced. We would have Jackson (if he signs) and Hickson ahead of him in the rotation with just slightly less NBA experience.

I think a stop gap like Lorenzon Wright for league min will be just fine. We need an emergency option, not a rotational player. 96 min. Z=25, Ben=25 AV=30 Small ball and rookies only play 16 mins then. That is fine. But, if one them go down (I am sure we are looking at about 30 games combined) we need somone to come in and play 20 mins a game. Wright could do that. Go small or play the rookies a bit more.

I would love to find a young center to groom, but thats not nearly as easy as it sounds. I am sure we will draft more big men next year in hopes of finding our center. Also, AV is becoming increasingly important to resign, and his options are going to be only slightly better next offseason than last years.

I agree it would seem foolish to bring in another inexperienced big who might not be any more ready to play key minutes on a contender then Hickson or Jackson. the hope is that this vet big is a guy who won't have to play many minutes but if he did I would feel a lot better if it was a guy like Wright who has been through the battles before.

Not thinking this will happen whatsoever, but just gonna throw it out there...Golden State waived Kosta Perovic recently. He's a 7'2" 23 year old center and only played in 7 games for the Warriors this past season. Since we technically have another 15-man roster spot (or 2 if Snow ends up not counting), I wouldn't mind giving this guy the minimum to get some developmental time. Wouldn't hurt having both him and Kaun waiting/developing a bit to see if either can work out to be a piece (like a backup center) in the future. And he'd be a better option than Lance Allred.
