Did it break down because he took less money to be in Atlanta, or did we want to structure it like every other deal we did with team option years where Atlanta was willing to give him 4 guaranteed?

Kyrie-CJ (or Karasev)-Karasev (or Clark)-Bennett (or Clark)-Bynum should be our starting lineup until we get a legit small forward. Kyrie, Dion, and Andrew have no space with which to operate because Gee and TT can't spread the floor. This severely limits those players' ability to operate at their maximum level, and it needs to be fixed. Want to see Kyrie, Dion, and Bynum combine for 60 every game, Potato Head? Do what I just said.

Playing Alonzo Gee on a bad team is absolutely ridiculous. It reminds me a bit of the obsession with playing Ira Newble years ago, but at least that was a competitive team. I can somewhat understand not wanting to rock the boat when you are winning games and the thought of injecting rookies that are mistake prone into the lineup is worrisome. But when a veteran guy is giving you literally nothing almost every single game and you are plodding along as one of the worst teams in the league, you can't keep turning to him.

Why would we not want to hasten the develop of Bennett and Karasev when nobody in front of them is blocking them with quality play? It's illogical and infuriating. Miles, Jack and Gee are all playing too much right now in my opinion. Brown has just created a self induced log jam of suck in front of our rookies.

not saying I agree with it. I think the justification for Brown using Gee is that he has played with thompsona nd Irving. has some chemistry and doesnt interfere with the main focus of their development.


I think its been enough games that they can change it up without being a negative impact on other things going on

There a million combinations of possible lineups. Personally im leaning towards kyrie, delly, miles, tt, bynum. But whichever is chosen, a move to end the tyranny of alonzo gee has to be made.

Alonzo Gee's +/- for the year is -122.

Yes, the Cavaliers are 122 points worse when he plays this year, and he only plays 20 minutes per game on average. Let that one sink in.

Grant should have really adressed that 3 position through late draft choices instead of putting crap to fill that position. Miles/Gee/Clark. My goodness.

Hindsight is 20/20, but man he should have saved more of those high 2nd round picks to try and find a 3&D player. Seems like a lot of them fall in the late 1st/early 2nd area, and he only needed to hit on one of them.

Could also say alot about our scouting and the way we value the sf position. We rather play a D league caliber player than developing a young wing.

True. Also, I think Mike Brown likes that with his forwards in general. How many times have we heard the "*Insert SF/PF name here* is doing a great job scoring for us off of passes and 50/50 balls, and we don't even call plays for him!" I feel that he tends to like having the offense revolve around 1/2 primary ball handlers and scorers while the other guys pick up the slack defensively, but he needs to adjust to 21st century basketball both offensively and defensively.

You know how they say players are a "poor man's version of ____?"

Alonzo Gee is a homeless, toothless, crack-addled, meth-riddled, foul-odored version of Tony Allen that walks into soup kitchens and slaps dishes off of newly homeless guys plates with his abscessed wrists and ashy hands and makes the other homeless guys in the park even more homeless than they already were.
