Andre Iguodala

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'd consider Iggy if they're also throwing in Brackins and Meeks. But probably not likely, so I guess I'd have to pass.

I think acquiring Iggy now would actually be a good move. At first I agreed with those who said he's too expensive and he's not a #1 option. Both these points are true, which is why his value is at an all-time low right now. The longer the Sixers wait to trade him, the less money will be left on his contract. So, if we acquire him now with just the TPE, we can continue to suck to get a good pick and then send Iggy to a contender for young talent and/or picks when his contract becomes more friendly. The difference between us and the Sixers is that Gilbert is willing to pay Iggy's salary, whereas the Sixers' owner is probably wishing he could sell the team.

His contract will be worse than better. No contender will take him.

More money per year, yes. But right now he has 3.5 more years left after this season, including his player option for 2013-2014 (44 million in the next 3 years, without the remaining money left for this season). If we trade for him at the deadline, keep him until the end of 2012, and then trade him, there will only be 2 years left (31 million). I think at that point Iggy will still be in his prime and teams like Boston, Atlanta, Orlando, OKC, etc. could really use a guy like him to remain contenders. They all have plenty of assets to make a deal, but right now there's no point because Iggy's overpaid.

Yeah but who knows what will happen with the new CBA...we don't know if that contract will be tradeable at all in a few years...

If we lose to Detroit tonight, I bet a trade is going to happen in the next week........Gilbert and Grant are trying to keep this a winner

Lol what. I got no idea what you just said.

You want to trade him after using him for 2 years then trade him off? Yea keep that on nba 2k11. GMs should be fired if they are targeting guys that is overpaid that they are gonna ship away a few years later. Terrible.

Keep what a winner? Hate to say it, but that ship sailed months ago.

Can we get Dwight Howard instead?

You gonna give up on the Cavs........im defiantly not

Guess it depends on your expectations going into the season. I expected them to finish, at best, 8th in the East. Realistically, I thought they'd be around 30 wins (i.e. not a winning team). Judging from my expectation, I haven't given up on them... but that's only because there wasn't anything to give up on.

If we go after Iggy, which I still don't see happening, that will go against EVERYTHING Grant has said he stood for. Iggy will not help our team. He MAY be the difference in making the playoffs and not making the playoffs, but is having Iggy (who personally, I think is out of his prime), really worth missing out on a lottery pick? Somebody we can possibly build around for the years to come; it's just not worth it to me.
