Ellis, Biedrins and Nelson out?

Incoming owner Joe Lacob did interviews on radio and TV on Tuesday and revealed some of his thoughts on the Warriors.

According to Tim Kawakami of the San Jose Mercury News, Lacob said he will be very active on the basketball side of the organization. Lacob added that he liked the trade for David Lee and his $80 million contract. Futher, Lacob indicated he's not sure Don Nelson should coach the team this upcoming season, and that the club's salaries won't exceed the luxury-tax threshold.

Kawakami wrote the following about potential trades: "Lacob sounded a lot more excited about Lee and Stephen Curry than he did about Monta Ellis and Andris Biedrins. Nothing wrong with that. I wouldn't presume that these guys will definitely be traded. But it's also something everybody in the league will be watching."

anyone think that Biedrins would be a good move for us? not sure if the TPE could get it done, but i hope the cavs are looking at it. he's 26 and contract isn't too bad if he can be a solid center for us 4yrs @ 9mil per.

Only way I take Biedrins is if we get the Warriors 1st rounder.

Pass. Don't like 9M a year for big men who cant score.

Too many non scoring big man on the roster. We don't need him. All of the assets we want on that team is already gone (Morrow, Azabuike and Randolph)

yeah but he can hit the boards and we need big bodies. he just happens to be above average (at least his stats seem to say he's pretty efficient). i'm not too keen on hollins being the only post player.

send them back powe (maybe he'll like going home).

We send them powe plus our TPE? No way in hell. Biedrins is also a very fragile player that investing almost 40 million for four years of him will be disastrous to our rebuilding process. Hollins is not a post player and so is Biedrins. Think of the skill set of Varejao without the hustle part and add athleticism to that and you get Biedrins and Hollins. I would rather sign Kaun for 3.5 Mil/year.

For an unprotected first, I'd do it.

Doubt they would though. Don't see us being trade partners.

I consider this if we can gets their lottery pick which is usually high

Im surprise NY hasnt been chasing monte. He seems perfect for them even with felton

You wonder how teams like GS seem to never win? Trade a promising player like Randolph on a rookie contract and overpay players like Biedrins on 6 year contracts that average 10.5 mill per a year.

People complained about Verajo's deal, but he was a huge bargain compared to what GS payed Biedrins. Andy is twice the player Biedrins is if not more, but makes 2.25 million less a year.

This is exactly the kind of contract Grant said he wouldn't take on this morning. I would have considered it if Z retired, Shaq left, and LeBron re-signed, but there's no reason for it now. We should be going after bigs that have upside but aren't worth enough for their teams to keep them.

Biedrins spent most pof last season injured and when he came back he was innefectve, his ft % is terrible and since he knows this he doesn't like shooting because he knows he'll get hack a shaqed.

24 year old Monta Ellis, 24 year old Andris Biedrins, and a first round pick?

Kind of playing devil's advocate here; would anybody want us to pursue a trade for that package? Monta could thrive playing off-guard in Scott's system. Biedrins can run the floor, gobble boards, and finish at the hoop. And a first round pick from the warriors is golden.

(Let's forget that both players have terrible contracts, are injury prone, have been underwhelming performers recently, and when they did perform well, they did so in the Harlem Globe-Warriors system, ok?)

That's like saying LeBron is the greatest human being to ever be born in NE Ohio, but only if we forget that he was a selfish brat that embarrassed the whole state on national television, never bothered recruiting anyone for the Cavs, and didn't bother calling the Cavs to tell them his decision.
