Andy Katz: Cavs offer #1 overall, Tristan, Waiters for Love... Rejected.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Would put a hit out on Grant (haha). Pulling chunks of hair out just thinking about this happening.

I'd do it because it's a cap neutral move and Love is a superstar. We could find a SG/SF via free agency. Easily makes us a top 4 team in the east.

I really don't believe that was our offer. I could see Tristand and the #1, but not all 3 assets.

Tristan and the #1 would allow the Wolves to resign Vucevic, and they could use #1 on McLemore or Porter. That would be a strong situation for the Wolves.

Throwing in Waiters? No way.

Wrong Nikola.

Am I reading too much into this if I say that the only reason we would offer #1+Tristan+Waiters for Love is if we know Noel's knee is fucked?

You're reading too much into this if you think the Cavs even though about this trade.

I wouldn't call him injury-prone, but Kevin Love isn't exactly a picture of perfect health either. He hasn't been his old self ever since he got hurt this year. This would be a lopsided deal if Love was 100%.

I'm guessing there must be more to the story because these supposed trade offers for Aldridge and Love kinda make CG and the Cavs appear desperate.

Imagine Kyrie Andy and Love all being out due to injury :uhh:

It's okay Timberwolves, we'll just pick him up when he is a free agent and you will receive nothing in return.

This is a classic example of a fan base overvaluing their own assets. The whole reason you build assets is to get Superstars.

You have the opportunity to build around Kyrie and Love, two elite players, and keep MAX room for another player. Not to mention the 19th pick, future picks from Memphis, Sacramento, Miami, and our own picks.

That's how you build a winner.

Maybe Gilbert is desperate after Ledouche won another title(thanks Spurs) and putting the screws on. He is probably feeling like Kirk after Khan's surprise attack with Reliant.

I'd bet this rumor was floated by Minnesota. It's actually good news, because it shows they are open to moving Love. If I am Flip, knowing all the stupid trades we've made out of desperation in the James days, I ask for the sun and moon (but not Jamario) and see if I get it. If the Cavaliers feel they have a shot at contention again with Love, they will probably overpay for the opportunity.

I do that trade in a second. Love is a star in the league, who knows what TT, Waiters, and whoever #1 will be.

Sure, if this was LA or somewhere like that, I'd jump all over that deal knowing we'd get a bunch of amazing role players willing to play cheap and likely another max contract caliber free agent to come (see Bosh, Allen, Battier, Haslem).

But this is Cleveland. We aren't going to be getting any of those free agents, which would make it nearly impossible to build a good team around Love and Kyrie.

I agree except Flip has already made it very clear he's not dealing Love at this point. Now the entire league could think TT and Dion are expendable. Don't really see how this helps the Cavs.. Don't know what it is about Minnesota but it seems every one of their conversations makes the wiretap just like the entire NBA knows they apparently want to trade up for Olapido.
