Andy Katz: Cavs offer #1 overall, Tristan, Waiters for Love... Rejected.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Sure, if this was LA or somewhere like that, I'd jump all over that deal knowing we'd get a bunch of amazing role players willing to play cheap and likely another max contract caliber free agent to come (see Bosh, Allen, Battier, Haslem).

But this is Cleveland. We aren't going to be getting any of those free agents, which would make it nearly impossible to build a good team around Love and Kyrie.

You can still collect draft picks and assets with Kevin Love.

I've already listed many of the picks we've compiled.

Kyrie and Love on offense :yay: :headbang:

Kyrie and Love on defense  :shakehead: :uhh:

Who cares if it is a star driven league? Unless you have Lebron on your team you need to have a total team to last in the playoffs year in a year out. Are we talking about team marketability or actually winning?

Name a team with two current all-star players that isn't winning right now.

This is a classic example of a fan base overvaluing their own assets. The whole reason you build assets is to get Superstars.

You have the opportunity to build around Kyrie and Love, two elite players, and keep MAX room for another player. Not to mention the 19th pick, future picks from Memphis, Sacramento, Miami, and our own picks.

That's how you build a winner.

I think it is an example of you overvaluing Kevin Love. He is a very efficient offensive player, when healthy. Speaking of health, he has missed more than 25 games per year over the last four seasons. He has questionable commitment to defense. And he tends to be whiny from time to time.

I think the Cavs should roll the dice with the #1 pick. They can always get Kevin Love as a free agent if they want him bad enough.

Holy shitttttt this would have been awful.

Who the hell would we have started at SG/SF!? I can't stand another year with Gee... Let alone another D-leaguer playing SG so we don't "kill our flexibility".

But I thought Tristan was part of #Lafamilia?? How could we get LeBron to play here without his boy Tristan here?

This deal obviously was not put on the table by the Cavs, but if it was, the T-wolves have a guy dumber than Kahn running the show.

Lies.

This is Flip Saunders letting it be known publicly that he's backing Kevin Love and holds him in high regard.

I could see the #1 overall pick and either ONE of Waiters or Thompson, but not both. That's fair...but all three is way too much. If they want all three, they've gotta throw in 9th overall. And even then, it still seems like we're giving up a little too much.
