Browns 2018 Season Reboot Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I can actually live with Hue and Haley screwing up games earlier in the season that'll ultimately lead us to just missing out on the Playoffs. It's going to build real character in this team - they know they can win ball games and regardless of what happens this season, they're going to be hungry moving into 2019. It's surreal to think that the AFC North is basically the Browns' for the taking for the next 10 years.

Browns can control the division and build a contender, using the failures of this season as the ultimate motivation. Let's face it: most of our superstars are rookies and second year players. They almost have no right to look as promising as they do right now.

If we fall short this season, this team is going to be so damn hungry heading into 2019. They're going to be a hard team to go up against, and that's something I cannot believe I am writing about the Cleveland Browns.
I agree. Go out saying “Man we were dangerous, if only...” and use that to springboard the off-season.

Take the leap next year.

Because we aren’t ready yet. Go out feeling good about yourself saying “Everyone is glad we didn’t get in.”

The unknown is almost better.

I'll never, ever, live with Todd Haley and Hue Jackson leading this team ever.

They brought in so much destruction and damage, that ruin a playoff season.

They can rot in hell, hell, hell!

Not literally, but fuck them though.

If we hire the right coach this offseason, though, it will all be worth it. Because we are probably the most desirable job this year, whereas last year that was absolutely not the case.

Yeah.. it’s gonna suck missing out on the playoffs by one Oakland screw job, but it all worked out how it had to. Would be amazing to win out, go from 1-31 to a winning record - and a winning record in division. That’s a monstrously successful season and a perfect springboard for 2019.

Lindsay was held to 24 yards on 14 carries; the rush defense needs to be commended for its effort and effectiveness. Denver has one of the better ground games in the NFL and the unit was sure as shit wasn’t going to allow it to be the reason we lost.

Had to assume we would allow a downfield completion or two without Ward while Mitchell gets back in his groove.

I know Denver isn’t some high-octane offense but you have to like that defensive performance.

It’s a catch 22

If Hue and Haley don’t mess up those games earlier, they probably aren’t fired

If they aren’t fired we probably don’t win 4 of 5

It was for the greater good

Now, we could have fired the worst coach in nfl history in the off-season and then we’d almost assuredly be in a better spot, but what’s done is done and it’s pretty cool I’m going to be watching games today rooting against teams because we still have an actual shot at the playoffs in week 15

None of this really matters, but I think the Hue/Haley feud pissed off Dorsey enough that one extra win wouldn't have made a difference, but it would make a hell of a difference looking for that last playoff spot. End of the day, this season has become such a positive that I'm not going to sulk that it should have been even better.

I will sulk alittle but not too much. We are on the upswing while Pittsburgh should be in a free fall real soon. The Browns need one more good draft and free agency off season and then the sky is the limit. ( Providing Dorsey finds the right coach. ) Its amazing what a good/great GM can do. I always look forward to the draft, this year it will be for a little bit different reason. ;)

So if we win next week and things go well on the scoreboard side.. I think week 17 could be flexed to Sunday night football... only other game I could see is the colts and titans... even if we are eliminated by then how sweet would it be to knock the ravens out of the playoffs on national tv

You're not wrong, it actually worked out for the best. I'm just starving for the Browns to make the playoffs bad.

Hell, I know if we got in we'd probably be one and done. We're a year away from making real noise, but I just still want that taste in my mouth.

We're out of it though. I know not mathematically. Even if we win out, and I think its possible, we need just way too much to happen. Basically everyone else needs to lose out (at least a lot of teams need to lose 2 out of 3, Ravens and Steelers need to lose out for us to get the division). Like 5 teams.

That Pittsburgh tie hurts us so badly. Oh well, still very exciting. It's just kinda sad only two more Browns games left.

Who'd have thought we'd be muttering those words?

Damn, I just looked at the Steelers schedule. NE, @New Orleans, then the Bungles.

We still play the fucking Ravens.

Shit, we're not out of the division at all. Steelers got 2 really, really tough games. Too bad the Bungles are there last to ruin the party.

GO PATS!

Where the fuck have you been, trapped in a mine?
