Browns rant thread.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Did you really think the Browns were going to win this season AND last season?!

No, never said that. I knew it was a complete rebuild. They stripped the whole team down and working to build it back up. I thought this season they'd show some improvement but that doesn't seem to be the case.

I will say I find it odd you're preaching patience and saying what should we expect when literally 2 weeks ago you said there's a chance the Browns have the best record in the NFL in week 7. You changed your tune quickly

The big complaints for me

1. The WRs look atrocious and Coleman can't stay on the field. 8 drops today. Just no one defenses even need to respect. Our best WR is literally Duke fucking Johnson followed by a 2nd year TE, and a 20 year old TE. We just drafted 4 wrs last year and honestly? Is anyone that confident in the position? I think it's actually our WORST pKaitlin

2. We are 1 for our last 19. We don't look improved at all from last year. I'm sorry but this team should NOT be a 3 win team this year. And it's looking very possible

3. Why we drafted a guy who almost exclusively played in the box and have had him 25 yards off the ball. Seriously when are we going to scrap this?

There's just a shit ton of uncertainty. And it's not too much to ask after 2 drafts and 25+ draft picks to look a little better than the single worst team in the NFL

LEts also not forget we have the highest paid Oline in the NFL and abandon the run every single game regardless of score

At the time I said that The Ravens and Steelers looked like the class of the conference. The Bengals had not scored an offensive touchdown and lost to a rookie QB making his first start on a short week with a limited game plan.

The Steelers lost to the Bears and looked outmatched.

The Ravens lost 44-7 to the Jags in what might be the worse lost of this early season.

The Bengals are currently giving The Packers a game in Lambeau.

Colts looked like dog shit until they put Brissette in there.

That prediction was based on what we knew at the time. Did you think the same Steelers team we took down to the wire was gonna look like a JV team to the Bears? How about that vaunted Ravens D?

The mistakes on the field are correctable. Some of them are compounded. Rookie QB throwing to inexperienced receivers. The results will look similar to this. Even through that in two of the three games the team has gotten punched in the mouth and did not lay down. There are some points when the talent on the other team is just beating us. Adding the youth and inexperience on top of that doesn't put us over the hump.

No, a team that has won 4 of its last 40 has many legit things to complain about.

If we were complaciant/apathetic...that would mean we would have given up on the concept of there being a pro football team in Cleveland.

But it feels a bit ridiculous at times.

No but I knew the Browns had a 0% chance of having the best record in the NFL in week 7 which really should have been common knowledge

But the point is you can't preach patience and say everyone should have expected this when you were making such claims. You clearly didn't expect the team to be this bad

I'll put my hand up and admit that I expected too much from this team. I got fooled by the preseason.

That being said, I'm not totally down in the dumps about this team. I'm disappointed in our inability to run the ball forcing us to over rely on the pass which has highlighted how bad our receivers are and made kizer have to do too much for us to win.

The has been pretty solid in my opinion. Coverage is still a major issue, but I knew that would be the case going in. I'm hoping that once Garrett gets back they will be able to rush the passer better and make that deficiency less apparent.

In short, this team needs a lot more talent to actually get where they want to go.

So, I didn't get to watch; but at any point did we display an effective pass rush without sending extra? If we did, did it ever seem like it COULD be consistent?

Edit: I shouldn't say I didn't get to watch; but rather, I chose to watch the Indians instead without any real sense of hesitation or guilt -- even with them having the division clinched like a week ago.

No. And also no.

Disclaimer: I didn’t watch either.

But the Tribe played after the Browns :(

This thread makes me miss the Cavs Rant Thread. Boy, that's gonna be fun this season. This is just a warm-up!

The Browns are killing any interest I have in the NFL. I don't care about other teams, players, anything. I'd rather sit on my couch on Saturdays for 10+ hrs and watch college football than anything having to do with the NFL.
The problem with college is that you have to sit for 10+ hrs just to find one good game

Not trying to dive into the extreme end here by any means, but I think it's time we begin the a total change of team name and colors, etc and attempt to reinvent professional football in Cleveland.

Watching this franchise continue to spiral into mediocrity as each year goes by is unbearable, and our only hope for a change is a complete restart - and hope that's what this city needs to do to be a successful football franchise.

If all this team called the Cleveland browns has to offer is a continuation of losing, I'm all for a complete haul.

I think the semi frustrating thing is there's not really anything at the moment you can really do about how awful this team is save for just keeping things as is.

I can at least say what Hue is trying to do. I can even see what Gregg Williams is trying to do. But the problem comes when you have a net total of two, yes, two total pro-bowl caliber players on both sides of the ball (Jamie Collins, Joe Thomas). (maybe 3, but Tramon Williams hasn't been in that realm since 2010 or so..)

This doesn't seem to be a coaching or even a quarterbacking issue. Those seem to be a bit more easy to fix. This just seems purely lacking in talent.

This has been the case for me for years now.

There's a big difference though. The Cavs thread is stupid because they are actually good and we all know they are going to The Finals. And yet people rant when they have a bad game or two in the regular season when they aren't even giving a fuck. It's just idiocy.

The Browns just flat out fucking suck.
