no, there were definitely people gunning for the 8th seed
He's talking Jon, not the other dude.

Huh?
LOL, remember when people wanted to waive Sessions, Antawn, Anderson, and Parker because they were afraid they were too good and we'd win too many games with them?
im pretty sure you just invented an entire group of people, considering noone said that anywhere.
still we are still far away from competing with the Brown and Orange similar to the Cavs situation and we have the picks this year to add some serious talent, just a casual observation
I wanted the 8th seed I'm still here but its obvious at this point the tank is full steam
for the 20th time if there's no taker just buy him out....offer him 500k less than what's left on his deal (at the deadline we probably will have already paid a good portion of his salary) and let him sign with a contender
-TT gets more playing time
-we lose more games
-Swan can sign with a contender
-Swan makes more money (the minimum for him should be a lot higher than 500k)
I think everybody agrees with the "buy Jamo out if nobody wants to trade for him" position. But what bothers some folks is that some seem to think we "made a mistake" by not trading him last summer/fall (before or after the lockout) or "now." We cannot trade him "now." Nobody wants him now. Nobody wanted him (and his contract in any reasonably fair deal) last summer or fall. But beyond that - if Jamison doesn't agree to a buyout he cannot be bought out. Period. End of story. If he wants to stay here and finish out the season - and by all reports we've had that is what he wants - there is no way we can force him to take a buyout. So saying "buy him out" or you've made a mistake is missing one little point: he has to agree to it.
Some posters said they wanted to win as many games as possible and did not care what it meant for the draft position. I am not making any of this up, but there were even a few posters that wanted to package TT for someone that was a more polished player right now. People got caught up with the team playing competitive ball the first 5 weeks, and forgot how many long term holes this roster truly has.
Hey, az20, if you want to actually try to prove I said something, then why don't you quote exactly what I said?
For instance, want to know someone who was in favor of waiving Jamison?
How about L-Train?
Or DaddyWags:
See? It's not hard...
Read My post again! You said people were in favor of out right releasing Andy.
I could go back and qoute you from the start of the year when you stated this team was not dysfucntional enoguh to get a top pick, but hoenstly I have better things to do! Those of us that have been active have a pretty good memory that there were posters who were in favor of a "Win now approch" It does not require me to look up qoutes. Most rational people use something called a memory.
I would like to know when I or anyone in my camp was demaning to release ANDY and Sessions, beucase I am pretty sure we were caling for TRADES that would give us more assests in the future.
It is not the end of the world, but we never should had had a a "win as all costs approach" and it is obvious now.
The Cavs will be in the Finals again before the Browns make the playoffs.
Wow. You're going there? If you really want to get technical, you should have noted that I said "waive" not "out right releasing". If we had bought out Jamison, he would have been placed on waivers.
The problem is not only has your "memory" been faulty time and time and time again - you go out of your way to insult other board members based on your faulty memory of who said what. So, try the quoting approach.
The main point emphasized over and over by members of the tank squad was that they didn't want the veterans of the team taking playing time from the kids or winning us games. Of course we all want as much as we can get for those players, but few tankers cared about that. If they did, they wouldn't be tankers.
There you go again...
