Yes they were.
In 2007:
Jason smith was picked 20th then traded to Philly
Jared Dudley was picked 22nd
Sean Williams was picked 17th
Carl Landery was selected 31st then traded to Houston
I'm sure it's all going to depend on what the coaching staff feels Hickson is ready for. Obviously, he's going to be coming off the bench for at least 1 year and probably 2.
Here's what other big men picked in Hickson's range last year got in terms of minutes per game last year.
Sean Williams: 17.5 MPG
Jason Smith: 14.5 MPG
Jared Dudley: 19.0 MPG
Carl Landry: 16.9 MPG
Ideally you would like to see Hickson playing 10-15 minutes a night this year but it's all going to depends on what he's ready for.
I'd love that -- it's been so long since we've seen some young blood from the draft come into the lineup and give us some excitement.

But, back to my response to your post ...Koufos could have easily been the choice ...the decision to go Hickson wasn't a 100% lock ...
Easy decision
The Cavs said they had no problem passing on 7-foot-1 forward/center Kosta Koufos with the No. 19 pick.
''It was not a hard decision on the night of the draft,'' Cavs assistant general manager Chris Grant said. ''We talked it all out and had our order. You just go down the board and mark them off.
''It's not emotional. You've done your work.''
Ferry said he explored moving up in the first round, but was unable to get anything done.
- Hickson's wingspan is about 7-1, four or five inches longer than he is tall. Grant referred to it being ''plus-4 or plus-5.''
- The Cavs did like Kansas shooting guard Brandon Rush, but knew it was going to be next to impossible to get him at 19.
- Yes, Georgetown center Roy Hibbert was high on their list as well.
''We liked his skill set,'' Grant said. ''He's big. We didn't think he was going to get to us.''
Hibbert was drafted No. 17 by Indiana.
- Grant said the Cavs felt they had to tap into the vast arsenal of big men in the draft.
''(French forward/center Alexis) Ajinca was interesting,'' Grant said. ''(Rider's Jason) Thompson was not a big surprise at 12 (to Sacramento).''

Couple of tidbits:
Koufos had some definite support amongst some ...to me it would have been interesting to see what we would have ultimately done of Hibbert was still on the board along with Hickson .... a few days before the draft I was given the impression, and had the definite feeling that Hibbert was going to be the pick if he was there at 19... But amongst those three you had three different dimensions of big men.
One was a pretty rounded out and ready to go pure center, one was a finesse big that would have had a herd time adjusting to the inside toughness in the NBA, but who had alot of interesting aspects ...then Hickson who is your tough inside scorer/rebounder that projects as a pure PF.
I think they ultimately got the best of the three options ...this draft would have been perfect for me, personally, if we could have landed George Hill or CDR...
