Cavs in dicussions with Bucks for Redd AND Charlie V....

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
A tweet from CV....

@MattDina, ask me if i could play for this team, http://bit.ly/yKcSQ what do you think?

And a tweet from Bogut to CV....

@CV31 Hope your summer is going good man. I thought you would have been in Milwaukee last weekend. It was Gaypride weekend. Pederu!

Is this trade even possible.

Some guy said we cannot sign and trade AV in a package deal after June 30th because he is an unrestricted FA? And he would have to pick up his option for his contract for the trade to work?

We could get around the draft by trading them our pick for money and then sending money back in the trade.

Here's how the trade cannot work though:

Cleveland sends:

6.9 Million for Andy (non-BYC- this makes his salary larger than anything else possible unless he signed for over $11.4 mil for the first year)
4.95 Million for Sasha
736,420 For Darnell
855,189 for Kinsey
$736,420 for Jawad

Total= 14.178029 mil

Most we can take back= 17.82253625 mil

Mil sends:
17.040 mil for Redd

AS you can see.. signing CV for anything over $783,000 for the first year wouldn't make this trade possible.

We would have a deal around Ben, or perhaps add Boobie to the deal, for this to work.

Let's add Boobie:

6.9 Million for Andy (non-BYC- this makes his salary larger than anything else possible unless he signed for over $11.4 mil for the first year)
4.95 Million for Sasha
4.0885 mil for Boobie
736,420 For Darnell
855,189 for Kinsey
$736,420 for Jawad

Total= 18.266529 mil

Most we can take back= 22.93316125 mil

Mil sends:
17.040 mil for Redd
5.89316125 for CV (That is the most we can take back)

(BTW, Anything over 4.13766 for CV puts him as BYC)

We would really be thin and DJ doesn't seem like he is going to be traded (though I'm sure that we would include him in a deal like this) with how W&G seems to talk about him being in the rotation for next year.

Hope this helps.

Friendly question to all supporters of a Redd deal...

Do you put a deal for Redd ahead of any type of deal that would net us a 2/3 hybrid type of player like Childress?

I see the validity in the case for Redd but then at the same time if we are a team with a defensive identity that wants to bring back 2 guys in one deal (Redd and Charlie) that are not known as solid defenders, then I have to wonder when our team defense starts to get diluted. I am willing to deal with Charlie because I think we are bleeding for a scorer from the 4 position but I get uneasy sliding in anyone to start at the 2 that :

1.) Doesn't have the ability to play some SF minutes.
2.) Is not a good defender.

Now Mike is a great defensive mind that's for damn sure but the Magic series showed that without the right personnel, he is essentially neutralized against teams like Orlando. I don't see how Michael Redd does anything but hurt us worse defending the perimeter.

I already put Chad Ford to shame on my Euroleague-flavored Childress politico-breakdown. At this point, I'm just trying to remind folks that there are many solid options, not just one or two.
Micheal Redd can play off ofLeBron very well offensively. Coach K of the Olympic team put them on the floor together at the same time throughout the early goings of the Olympics. We could do worse... but I agree we might end up doing better.

I know this is a humungous upgrade talent and roster wise for us. But I stilll can't help but wonder how Redd is doing.

It would be amazingly stupid if Milwaukee is just offloading Redd or Jefferson as a big contract. If we could get a steal for Redd and Villanueva, we could still sign Sheed and Anthony Parker.

The Bucks need to move Redd or Jefferson to keep Sessions, stay out of the luxury tax and be able to avoid these same issues next year. Not many teams willing to take big contracts and if the Bucks are keeping Sessions, CV is already gone unless there is a major about face. It is all about Ferry linning up the best deals that are out there we will just have to wait and see.

Personally I would try to convince Mil that Jeffersons contract has more financial implications that Redds does. Jeff has 3 years left (I believe) and Redd only has 2 meaning Jefferson will cost them more long term.

What numbers are hitting tonight?

how does this affect our chances of getting charlie villanueva?

Well Milwaukee has enough space to sign one of their to big RFAs in Sessions and CV. Just depends on which one they want to go after.

More than likely slim, probably have to be a S/T with Cleveland giving up some assets. Won't the bucks have enough money to make a qualifying offer?

With the salary dump of RJ, you guys can probably kill this thread. Bucks look to be done dumping salary.
