Cavs in dicussions with Bucks for Redd AND Charlie V....

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Why would Milwaukee have to choose between either Sessions OR Charlie V???

They will save almost $6 million in this RJ deal after they cut Bowen and Oberto. (I bet Bowen winds up back in SA....take note Mr. Ilgauskas...)

I'm pretty certain that as long as Milwaukee can stay under the luxury tax, they will try to sign both of these guys.

Yep...say bye to Charle V.

Time to shorten the short list of REAL prospects...

Even with that all the sites are saying Milwaukee will have to choose who to sign. This just made it easier on Milwaukee to sign one of the two with more money to offer one.

well, their cap number will be about 61 million, depending on how high the lux tax is... it was 71.15 last year, that figures to go down a bit this year...

That leaves 10 million for 2 players

mle is 5.5... if both players get offered the mle, it puts them over the tax... also, they have to figure they have the #10 overall pick... thats at least a couple million guaranteed...

Given the circumstances now, we can probably say that Redd has to be the only one getting shopped now that they are leaning toward that young core in which Redd isn't. Charlie V will be re-signed if someone trades expiring/non guarunteed contracts or a retiring Ben Wallace. So I say we go for Redd, see what they want at least, maybe we can get them to give up a second rounder?

As of right now, what realistic trade options could be in the works for the Cavs? I've been busy at work all day and have not been able to follow. I need an update if any please?

I got no idea which direction the Bucks will go now, but I do know that Mike Redd should demand a trade. He probably won't, he's that good of a guy, but if that was any other allstar shooting guard without a ring who is turning 30, they'd be telling the GM they want the hell outta there. There's no chance of the playoffs for them now, they lost RJ and will lose Villanueva, it's a typical rebuild and they should accept pure money-saving offers for him.

I'm not sure if he fits into our plans, I'll always be someone who would love to have him here, but I hope he gets traded to a playoff team. He deserves to show his clutchness in that environment.

I agree, the man hasn't had many chances to play in the playoffs, and I'm sure he at least wants a chance to win a title before his career is over. What better place to do that than here in Ohio where he grew up and the fans loved him when he played his college ball? I mean he led us to the final 4! He deserves to end his career here with a championship or two to cement his Legacy.

Well....they can't use the MLE twice.

They also have $3 tied to player options for Elson and Malik Allen....who knows if those will be used. One would think they will, but you never know.

They also have time after the season starts to get under the luxury tax.

They would still have possible assets like Redd and Ridnour's expiring deal they could try to use.

Can't they make a Qualifying Offer to Charlie V for about $4.5 million?

That would leave another $4-5 million for Sessions....I'm guessing the Bucks aren't going to want to give him much more money than say Delonte West got or Beno Udrih got, right?

Surely the Bucks will go slightly over the luxury tax number and then try to get below it later than to simply let Charlie V or Sessions simply walk, no?

And S&T's don't fit into that argument....because they don't keep Milwaukee under that luxury tax number.....unless of course the Cavs are taking back a bad contract in the process like Charlie Bell, Gadzuric, or maybe even Ridnour.

That means that you're looking at a deal from the Cavs side of things that means dealing Andy or Wallace to Milwaukee for Charlie V and a bad contract. In that scenario the Cavs have to use a bullet to get Charlie V that most fans had going elsewhere.:thumbdown

Forums are boosting in Cleveland that Michael Redd, Charlie Villanueva, and a third player to be named later could be headed to Cleveland for Ben Wallace, Sasha Pavlovic, Anderson Varejao, and the 30th pick. They said they found it on a Milwaukee radio show from Sirius. Radios in Cleveland are now speaking of it, but nothing in the paper or online.

Why Cleveland Accepts:

They receive a lengthy and taller guard who can help with Hedo Turkoglu and Rashard Lewis in Orlando. They also receive Villaueva who also can defend the outside three. The player to be named could be Dan Gadzuric who is a center to help on Dwirght Howard. Then they would still have their MLE to sign Rasheed Wallace or someone else.

Why Milwaukee Accepts:

They are currently flirting with the luxury tax so this would help them stay under by unloading salary and receive some talent back in Varejao and the 30th pick although the draft is not strong. Allows them to resign Sessions and finally rebuild.

Now I'm not saying this could happen because Cleveland is currently talking to many teams, but heading into the draft this could be a potential Blockbuster deal.

Hey look guys we made the news :chuckles:

70% of fans said the trade should be made, don't know about after the RJ trade though

...

Multiple teams will likely offer either the MLE, the bucks cant match both and stay under the tax. thats without counting the #10 pick.

I see Redd still being moved, I think they are looking to keep their first pick, cv, sessions and bogut as the new core.

Mil. will likely, and should resign Charlie and let Sessions walk if the do have to choose, they can get a PG at #10.

I can't take any team serious that tries to build a young core of talent around Andrew freaking Bogut......

He is a legit center, thats the hardest thing to replace. Personally I wouldnt have traded yi...i see potential with him and they werent winning with that team anyways so adding rj was a waste.
